INDIA: The prices for the new XUV400, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s first electric SUV, unveiled on World EV Day in 2022, are out now.

The Mahindra XUV400 EV will challenge the Tata Nexon EV, the nation’s best-selling electric vehicle. The car has a reasonable price tag of 15.99 lakhs.

The initial 5,000 bookings for each of the two variations are subject to the introductory prices. Within a year of its release, Mahindra expects to sell 20,000 units of the XUV400.

The XUV400 is the first electric vehicle from Mahindra to feature the copper twin peak logo.

The electric SUV will be available in five colour options: Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Naples Black, and Infinity Blue, with a dual-tone Satin Copper option.

The electric SUV will be available in two variants: the XUV400 EL, which has a battery capacity of 39.4 kWh, and the XUV400 EC, which has a battery capacity of 34.5 kWh.

A warranty of eight years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, will cover the battery and motor of the e-SUV in addition to the duration of the vehicle’s standard warranty of three years and unlimited miles.

The new Mahindra XUV400 boasts the fastest acceleration in the non-luxury segment. The vehicle can reach a speed of 100 kph in 8.3 seconds. Additionally, it has a top speed of 150 kph.

With a 39.4 kWh and 34.5 kWh lithium-ion battery for the two variants, the XUV400 has the most power (110 kW, 150 PS) and torque (310 Nm) in its class.

In compliance with Indian driving cycle standards, the batteries have a range of 375 and 456 kilometres, respectively.

Compared to the XUV300, the XUV400 is larger. The SUV in the C-segment has a wheelbase of 2600 mm and a length of 4200 mm. It has a 378-liter/418-liter boot space (up to the roof).

The XUV400 features fun, fast, and fearless drive modes. These drive modes alter the steering, throttle, and regen responses.

Mahindra claims that the gamification of driving behaviours included in the vehicle will make the e-SUV experience enjoyable while maximising its range.

Additionally, the vehicle comes with an IP67-compliant dust- and water-resistant battery pack and motor.

The all-electric XUV400 will be available for reservations beginning January 26, 2023, and deliveries for the XUV400 EL and XUV400 EC will start in March 2023.
