UNITED STATES. Los Angeles: The man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stole her French bulldogs in Los Angeles last year has been sentenced to 21 years in prison. The singer previously offered a $500,000 reward for the return of her pets.

According to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, James Howard Jackson, one of three men and two accomplices who took part in the brutal robbery of dog walker Ryan Fischer, entered a no-contest plea to one count of attempted murder.

The arrangement was reached months after Jackson was wrongly released from detention in April owing to a paperwork error, prompting US marshals to start looking for him.

According to the authorities, on February 24, 2021, Jackson, Jaylin White, 19, and Lafayette Whaley, 27, drove around Los Angeles searching for French bulldogs. The French bulldog is a pricey breed that can fetch thousands of dollars on the open market.

The group is thought to have been unaware that Fischer was with Lady Gaga’s three dogs when they came across them near Sunset Boulevard, according to detectives.

According to Fischer, the men rushed him and yelled at him to “Give it up” as they seized the leashes of the animals.

One of the males started choking the dog walker while he was swinging at them with the champagne bottle he was holding and still hanging onto two of the leashes.

Authorities claim that Jackson shot him during the scuffle. This allowed the group to flee with two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, while a third dog, Miss Asia, hid beneath nearby bushes as Fischer had instructed.

While bleeding out on the sidewalk, Fischer considered the best strategy for getting Lady Gaga’s dogs back.

One of the dogs was being held by the dog walker as he was treated on the sidewalk for his wounds following the robbery. The attack was a “very close call with death,” according to Fischer.

His lung was wounded by the bullet, and as a result, it repeatedly collapsed and needed to be surgically removed, according to Rolling Stone.
