UNITED STATES: Prepare for an electrifying summer as Marvel Comics unveils its major-event miniseries, “Star Wars: Dark Droids,” where legions of intelligent machines across the galaxy face a deadly and mysterious threat known as the Scourge.

This five-issue title, written by renowned “Star Wars” author Charles Soule and brought to life with captivating artwork by Brazilian illustrator Luke Ross, will send shockwaves through the “Star Wars” universe, infiltrating other popular comic series such as “Star Wars,” “Star Wars: Darth Vader,” “Star Wars: Doctor Aphra,” and “Star Wars: Bounty Hunters.”

The miniseries, commencing on August 3, 2023, will also introduce Ajax Sigma, who first appeared in last year’s “Star Wars: Revelations #1.”

Marvel Comics has released a thrilling glimpse into the “Dark Droids” series, showcasing the exclusive “Scourged” variant covers created by artist Rachael Stott.

This variant covers iconic feature droids such as C-3PO, K2-SO, RA-7, and even the electronically enhanced Beilert Vance and Darth Vader. 

Each of the five issues in the main “Dark Droids” event series will accompany a specially designed variant cover, adding to the anticipation and suspense surrounding this electrifying storyline.

Taking place between the events of “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” “Dark Droids” delves into a horror-infused narrative that promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats. 

The Scourge’s corrupt power poses a significant threat to the Empire and the Rebellion, as it spreads through the intricate microcircuitry and formidable processors that permeate the “Star Wars” universe.
