Unidentified assailants shot and killed Sidhu Moosewala as he drove past Jawaharke village in Mansa district on Sunday.

The heinous event occurred two days after Punjab Police dropped security for 424 people, including him.

Notably, the musician joined the Congress party in December of last year, ahead of the assembly elections.

Goldy Brar, a Canadian criminal, claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder in a Facebook post on Sunday evening.

Goldy Brar is a close associate of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is also suspected of murdering the singer.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police have linked the murder to an inter-gang rivalry in their early inquiry.

After Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village in Mansa district, Punjab Police filed an FIR against unknown individuals.

The FIR was filed at City-1 at Mansa Police Station under sections 302, 307, and 341 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

In addition, the Delhi Police Special Cell announced earlier today that it would investigate persons associated with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar after Brar, who lives in Canada, claimed responsibility for the recent murder of Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala.

According to Delhi Police, Brar was being investigated for allegedly planning many murders and attempted murders from Canada.

However, the Punjab BJP blamed the singer’s death on the Bhagwant Mann-led administration and requested an impartial National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigation.
