UNITED STATES: Although Morbius’s release date is approaching, speculations about Spider-Man’s appearance are still rumours. Sony Pictures have not confirmed the depiction of any of the wall-crawlers in the film.
Following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was generally assumed that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man would feature in the Morbius. But now, to add to the frenzy, MyTimeToShineHello, a Twitter handle that has provided a plethora of data and hypotheses about previously released films, has tweeted, “No Spider-Man in Morbius.”
According to all the theories and predictions, Sony Pictures is hesitant about which version of Spider-Man would be shown in the film. Before Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, it was expected that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man would feature in the movie. The rumour stems from a cameo for Tom Holland in Venom (2018) planned, but the cameo was cancelled due to a character rights dispute between Sony Pictures and Marvel.
Possibilities of subsequent Spider-Man appearances in Morbius
Following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, many speculated that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man might feature in the film. It was all based on a hypothesis that surfaced on Reddit.
According to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, he stopped pulling punches following Gwen’s death. And there’s a graffiti of Spiderman with Murder carved on it in Morbius’ debut teaser. So, according to the rumour, it was Andrew Garfield’s interpretation of Spider-Man’s graffiti.
No Way Home has sparked the Marvel fandom, and there is a lot of excitement about the upcoming Spiderman project. On Twitter, some fans used the hashtag #maketasm3, “Make the Amazing Spiderman 3”. Some have also expressed an interest in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. In the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange will be released on May 6th, 2022. Though Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man universe is well-crafted, it can be expanded upon rapidly.
Only after viewing Morbius can all hypotheses and speculations be determined as canon or not. The film will ultimately be released on April 1st, 2022, after being postponed numerous times.
