INDIA. Mumbai: In an Instagram post and a video widely circulated on social media, Aaliya Siddiqui, the estranged wife of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, alleged on Friday that the actor threw her and her children out of their house.
She came back to Mumbai from Dubai with her children but was not allowed to enter her house. In her video, Aaliya said, “I just came from Nawazuddin’s house. You can see my daughter, who is crying. We were thrown out of his bungalow, and we have been told we cannot enter. I cannot understand where I should go with my kids, I just have Rs.81 with me—no house to go to, and no money.”
Nawazuddin and Aaliya married in 2009, and are parents to two children, a son named Yaani and a daughter named Shora. Aaliya divorced Nawazuddin in 2011 with mutual consent. Although they separated earlier, in 2020 she again sent him a divorce notice. After she tested positive for COVID-19 in 2021, she tried to patch things up again.
On January 23, Nawaz’s mother, Mehrunisa, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Aaliya over a property dispute at the Versova Police Station. Later, her lawyer alleged that Nawazuddin’s family was torturing her and that she was being deprived of food, a bed, and access to the toilet.
Nawazuddin has already named his property on Yari Road, Versova, in Andheri, in North West Mumbai, in his mother’s name. So, he has no say over who can get into the property. The caretaker of Mehrunisa Siddiqui states that only her grandchildren are allowed on the property since it belongs to her. Nawazuddin himself is currently residing in a hotel.
Recently, when Nawazuddin reached his bungalow, to meet his ailing mother, his brother Faizuddin stopped him from entering the house (as seen in the video).
Aaliya Siddiqui’s Instagram post
“This is the truth of Nawazuddin Siddiqui who did not even spare his own innocent children..when after being in the house for 40 days I stepped out as office bearers at Versova police station called me urgently..but when I went back to the house with my children Nawazuddin Siddiqui had deputed a number of guards to not believe that her own father could do this to her and be on the road.. my daughter could not believe that her own father can do this to her and be howling and crying on the road.. thankfully one of my relatives took us in her one-room house..this small mentality and this cruel planning of throwing me and my children out of the house shows how small this man Nawazuddin Siddiqui is, “ she wrote in her post.
The Bombay High Court told Nawazuddin and Aaliya last month that they should try to work out their differences about their two young children in a peaceful way.
