INDIA: The sequel to the much-awaited periodic drama Ponniyin Selvan has its trailer and audio scheduled to launch today, March 29 at 9:30 pm IST. The event is ongoing at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Kamal Haasan to unveil Ponniyin Selvan 2 trailer

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan will be the chief guest at the event, which will include various media persons as well as other celebrities.

Following the grand commercial success of 2022, Mani Ratnam is back to set the box office on fire. The pan-Indian movie is slated to release on April 28 this year.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 is based on the Tamil novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy, which was a huge success, and people often take the story as an inspiration.

The big-budget movie has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in lead roles. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, and Ashwin Kakumanu round up the star cast in pivotal roles. Whereas Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar, and Parthiban are phenomenal as supporting cast members.

The film is jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. Both the production houses were previously involved in the first part. In Ponniyin Selvan 1 Aishwarya’s role has been highly praised and applauded, and fans are eagerly awaiting to witness the unwinding charm of the princess.

The actress unveiled the brand new poster of the Tamil film on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “Fire in their eyes. Love in their hearts. Blood on their swords. The Cholas will be back to fight for the throne!”

Aishwarya and Vikram reunited on the sets of the Ponniyin Selvan films after the huge success of their 2010 film Raavan. It was also directed by Mani Ratnam, and Abhishek Bachchan was cast opposite Aishwarya Rai.
