Rahul Gandhi Predicts 2024 Poll, Holds BJP Responsible For ‘Capturing Democratic Inst of India’

INDIA: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is constantly making fights to battle against the BJP, recently interacted with the journalists at the National Press Club in Washington. In a recent address, the former Wayanad MP claimed that the opposition parties of India are well united, and in the upcoming elections, the grand old party will “surprise” the people with its performance. 

Rahul Gandhi is in the US for a three-city US tour. Later he will also have a six-day visit which will also cover San Francisco, Washington DC and New York.

Gandhi talked about the discussions he had with Nitish Kumar. Congress leader stated that he believes a lot of good work is being done. He went on to say that it’s a tough discussion since there are areas where the party has also competed with (other) Opposition (parties). He remarked that it will require some give and take, but he is optimistic that it will happen.

Furthermore, Gandhi has shown confidence in his party. Congress leader stated that he believes the Congress party will perform well in the coming two years.

He also mentioned, “There is a hidden undercurrent building…Just do the math.” He asserted that a unified opposition will be able to beat the BJP on its own.

Rahul Gandhi also brought light into the Karnataka assembly elections, where Congress won the elections with flying colours defeating the saffron party. Gandhi listed Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh as the Congress-ruled states and said they will regain the state elections.

The 52-year-old also talked about the much-hyped topic in today’s time. He addressed Press Freedom and religious freedom in India. The senior leader blamed the Narendra Modi-led BJP government for ‘capturing democratic institutions of the country’

He stated that one should be willing to accept criticism. He went on to say that Mahatma Gandhi established the framework for fair and free negotiation.

“The structure that allows the negotiation between India’s people is coming under pressure,” he concluded.
