UNITED STATES: On August 1, the US pledged to provide Ukraine with a new batch of weapons, including ammunition for rocket launchers and artillery, which will bolster Ukrainian retaliation against Russian aggression, and hunt for Russian troops by bombing their critical supply lines.
According to a spokesperson for the National Security Council, John Kirby, who spoke to reporters in Bilomu Domi, the new package of 550 million dollars “Will include more ammunition for advanced high-mobility missile systems, also known as HIMARS, as well as ammunition.”
Kirby also highlighted that ever since Democrat leader Joe Biden established his administration, the US military aid to crisis-stricken Ukraine has exceeded well beyond eight billion dollars.
US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken said, “Pursuant to a delegation of authority from the President, I am authorizing our seventeenth drawdown since August 2021 of up to USD 550 million in arms and equipment from US Department of Defense (DoD) inventories for Ukraine’s self-defence.”
The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) happen to possess a longer range and live to a higher standard of precision and efficiency than the artillery of the Soviet Union, which is a small weapon of Ukraine.
Last week, the Pentagon announced the following statements regarding newer aid packages to Ukraine, “To meet ever-changing battlefield needs, the United States must continue to work with its allies and partners to provide Ukraine with key assets.”
The US Ministry of Defense also ensured that Ukraine effectively uses the artillery and ammunition supplied by the US to tackle Russian forces.
