Spain: Spain is the most popular destination in Europe for vacations, adventure, educational and business trips, and sunny beaches. The coastline has the best beaches and also all across the North of the country, there are striking mountains. Impressive architecture and art galleries, demonstrating Spain’s unique history and culture in Spain’s cities and rural areas are regularly frequented by the majority of tourists.

The most visited cities are Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Alicante, Sevilla, etc.

Barcelona

Barcelona, situated in northern Spain is the 20th-most-visited city in the world by international visitors. It is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Catalonia, and also is the second-most populous municipality of Spain. Barcelona and its inhabitants are called Catalan, and the language they speak is the Catalan language. Barcelona has successfully hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics and has the distinction of hosting various 1982 FIFA World Cup matches.  Two of the most prestigious universities in Spain: the University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University are located here.

It is a big tourist destination, a stylish place with laid-back café culture. The architecture, unusually rounded, swirly, and colourful includes designs by Antoni Gaudi. Another famous, though still incomplete, Sagrada Familia church is also worth visiting.

Barcelona has some beautiful beaches, has a mild and warm climate, and various historical monuments, including eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Granada

Located in southern Spain in the Andalusia region, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Granada is a great place for art and experiencing a care-free bohemian environment. Granada is known for its mix of Christian and Muslim architecture-influenced palace-fortress, and the Alhambra, the world’s biggest remaining medieval Islamic palace. Granada, a melting pot of cultures and artists should be a must-visit destination for every visitor to Spain. There are a number of nature parks near Granada including the famous Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve.

Madrid

The capital city is the financial and political center of Spain. It is worth visiting for culture explorers with the Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen-Bornemisza art museums. The city is a mix of the medieval area with small winding streets, and a modern section with elegant spacious boulevards. Mile Zero, the central area between the Palacio Real and Puerta del Sol is popular with tourists and is just a short walk away from the city’s main street called Gran Vía.

Alicante

If you love beaches, then Alicante is the place to be in. The city, a port city on Spain’s southeastern Costa Blanca is the capital of the Alicante province. It is a very popular tourist destination because of its beautiful coastline and long sandy beaches. It’s lovely walking on the long wide seafront promenades at night. The promenades are full of cafes on one side and street markets on the other, that is manned by a considerable number of Africans who work in these street markets selling their goods. In the central area in Alicante, the city’s historic central area, you can see Baroque buildings.

Bilbao

Bilbao, an industrial port city in northern Spain is surrounded by green mountains. It is the de facto capital of Basque Country.  If you love culture and traditional cuisine, then Bilbao is in Spain’s Basque region is the city to be in. You shouldn’t miss drinking Basque Cider while in Bilbao and also schedule a time to feast at the restaurants in Bilbao. Bilbao is a beautiful city. The beautiful art and architecture are awesome and the Euskalduna Palace and the famous Guggenheim museum can be visited.  Old Town is full of busy streets, historic mansions, a gothic cathedral, and pretty little boutiques and bars.

Seville

Seville, the capital of southern Spain’s Andalusia region is more famous for its football team Sevilla FC. For a tourist, there are flamenco dancers, oranges, wine and sun, the famous Semana Santa, and Feria de Abril. A tourist just can’t afford to miss visiting Seville. You should have Plaza de Espanya and the Real Alcazar on your bucket list when you come to Sevilla. Also, a stroll around the narrow old town can is recommended.
