ITALY: Italian design firm Bertone is reportedly working on a new hypercar called the GB110, which runs on plastic fuel.

The launch of GB110 will be the first under the leadership of Mauro and Jean-Franck Ricci. The production of the hypercar is limited to 33 units.

Despite having 1100Nm of torque and 1100 bhp, the car still meets Euro 6 emissions standards. The GB110 has a top speed of 236mph. The car goes from a standstill to 62mph in 2.79 seconds and 124mph in 6.79 seconds.

According to Bertone, the GB110 is a high-performance sports car showcasing the company’s expertise in sustainable design.

The GB110 uses a combination of lightweight materials, including carbon fibre and aluminium, in its build. The lightweight materials help to reduce its overall weight and improve its performance.

In terms of design, the GB110 features a sleek and aerodynamic body with a low, wide stance and a distinctive front fascia.

The GB110 also has various advanced features, including a full-colour TFT instrument display, a hydraulic suspension system, and a state-of-the-art audio system.

The suffix of the GB110 commemorates the firm’s 110th anniversary

One of the key benefits of the GB110 is its use of plastic fuel, synthesized from recycled plastic waste. According to Bertone, plastic-based fuel produces significantly fewer emissions than traditional fossil fuels, making it a much more sustainable option.

Bertone is collaborating with Select Fuel, a company that has developed a patented technology for converting polycarbonate materials into renewable fuel, to develop the car’s exclusive fuel.

While the GB110 is still in the early stages of development, Bertone is said to be confident that consumers will well receive the car. The company is reportedly planning to produce a limited run of the GB110, with prices starting at around $300,000.
