INDIA: The two gems of the entertainment industry, Shah Rukh Khan and SS Rajamouli made the entire nation proud with their achievements by becoming the only two Indians to feature in Time’s 100 Most Influential List of 2023.
Besides the two leading Indian personalities, the list also includes US President Joe Biden, Syrian-born swimmers and activists Sara Mardini and Yusra Mardini, King Charles, Bella Hadid, Elon Musk and Beyonce.
Deepika and Alia wrote the profiles of SRK and Rajamouli
The Om Shanti Om Co-actress of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, hailed King Khan’s credibility as an actor and wrote his profile. Deepika added, “For someone who has known him intimately and cares for him deeply, 150 words will never do justice to the phenomenon that is Shah Rukh Khan. He will be known forever as one of the greatest actors of all time.”
“But what truly sets him apart is his mind, his chivalry, his generosity. The list goes on. What makes our relationship special is the love, trust, and respect we have for each other,” she added.
Recently, both the stars have worked together in their latest blockbuster release, Pathaan, which made Rs 520 crores net in Bollywood, making it the highest-grossing film in the Hindi language in India. The film also crossed the Rs 1000 crores mark globally.
Talking about Rajamouli’s achievements, the director is known as an Oscar-winning filmmaker. Recently, his film RRR was facilitated with the Oscar award for its song “Natu Natu”.
The magnum opus film featured Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, and besides, it also starred Alia Bhatt, who made her Tollywood debut with the movie. Thus, Bhatt wrote, “He knows the audience he’s serving. He knows what beats to hit, and what turns to take. I call him the master storyteller because he genuinely loves the flair and abandon of stories. And he brings us together.”
Prior to the Tollywood feature’s Academy win, it created a storm among the Western audience. Prominent Hollywood celebrities praised the Rajamouli film for its action sequences and storytelling. Marvel Studios maverick filmmakers The Russo Brothers, James Gunn, Scott Derrickson and many more popular personalities applauded the movie for Rajamouli’s direction.
Later, the rarest of the rarest moment happened when SS Rajamouli met James Cameron and Steven Speilberg. The interaction between the directors provided a lot of perspective about their vision in filmmaking.
Keeping aside the critical success, RRR also created a box office tsunami globally. The film’s total box office collection on a worldwide level stands at Rs 1,200 crore.
Given both film personalities featured in Time’s list is a proud moment for India, which also raises the level of Indian Cinema on a global level.
