19 Rajya Sabha MPs Suspended For Violating The Rules Of The House 

The house was forcefully adjourned for an hour because the MPs were protesting, and ignoring the Chairman's appeals to stop; this led to a forceful suspension

INDIA.Delhi: The Rajya Sabha session was disrupted by 19 opposition MPs, which led to a forceful suspension. The opposition MPs misbehaved in the house by leaving behind their following seats and protesting.

In consideration of the act, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harvansh Narayan Singh suspended the MPs. The following names of the MPs are Mausam Noor, Santanu Sen, Abhi Ranjan Biswas, Dola Sen, Nadimal Haque, Sushmita Dev and Shanta Chhetri from the Trinamool Congress including Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader AA Rahim and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s Kanimozhi, M Mohamed Abdulla, NR Elango, R Girranjan, S Kalyanasundaram and M Shanmugam. The house was forcefully adjourned for an hour because the MPs continued to protest.

This entire incident took place, a day after the Congress Lok Sabha MPs were suspended for the entire Monsoon Session that ends on August 12. The following names of the MPs are Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani and TN Prathapa. They were forcibly protesting and holding placards inside the Parliament House, which is unethical according to the law. 

The leaders have been holding protests since the opening of the monsoon session. The protest focused on inflation and tax increase in India.

The TMC party took to the Twitter handle and declared, “You can suspend us but you cannot silence us. Deplorable situation – our hon’ble MPs are trying to flag people’s issues but they are being suspended. For how long will this go on? The sanctity of the parliament stands heavily compromised.”

Opposition is urging the Modi government to utter clarification for this sudden hike in goods and services, they will continue to make conflict unless they get valid clarification.

Leader of Rajya Sabha, Piyush Goyal said, “The government is ready for a debate on price rise once Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recovers and returns to parliament.”
