Belonging to a Catholic family, Cruise’s first choice at 14 was to practice being a priest. The American actor spoke to “XL Semanal” about his case of dyslexia and gave the Church of Scientology credit for helping him overcome his reading problem.

“I questioned if I was a regular person or an idiot. I experienced boredom, irritation, and worry when I tried to focus. I was practically illiterate when I left high school in 1980.” I asked why the system had failed, but nobody had a response for me. Finally, using L Ron Hubbard’s method, the late founder of Scientology, I was able to read flawlessly as an adult, he continued.

In 1996, Cruise launched his action-packed identity as Ethan Hunt, a superspy in the Mission: Impossible reboot. Six Mission: Impossible films have been released to date, with the latest edition titled Dead Reckoning Part One being the most anticipated. The actor is also known for his critical stunt work in the film series, and he was injured while filming a stunt for Mission: Impossible Fallout.

Tom Cruise was almost considered Marvel’s famed character

Iron Man without Robert Downey Jr. is unimaginable, but Tom Cruise was considered for the renowned Marvel role in earlier works. But he turned it down, saying, “As it was lining up, it just didn’t feel like it was going to work.” The rest is history, as Robert Downey Jr. was eventually cast in the role.

Earlier rumour was also circulating regarding Cruise’s appearance as Iron Man in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As word of the leak spread, several theories surfaced on Reddit. According to the rumours, the actor was meant to play Superior Iron Mans. It’s a sinister, brutalised and morally dubious version of Iron Man. He also possesses one of the most potent sets of Iron Man armour, the Endo-Sym suit. Even though the movie doesn’t feature any of Iron Man’s variations, Tom Cruise’s Iron Man remains one of the most desired characters among MCU fans.

On May 9, 1987, Cruise married the actress Mimi Rogers. On February 4, 1990, they got divorced. On the set of their movie Days of Thunder, Cruise met Nicole Kidman, who would later become his second wife. The media nicknamed Cruise and Holmes TomKat on April 27 of that year. But unfortunately, they separated in 2012.

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick recently surpassed the $1 billion milestones at the global box office. This demonstrates that Cruise has maintained his charisma in Hollywood while preserving an essential element of film culture.
