Five Indian Origin Women Makes it to Forbes’ List of America’s Richest Self-Made Women

UNITED STATES: Forbes announced the eighth annual list of America’s richest self-made women on Wednesday. The list spotlights America’s most successful women entreprenuers, executives and entertainers. According to the magazine, the 100 women featured have a combined net worth of $111 billion.

Diane Hendricks topped the list for the fifth consecutive year. Indian origin billionaire Jayshree Ullal was among the top ranked women. Along with Jayshree, making their way towards the list of America’s richest self-made women are these Indian-origin entrepreneurs:

Jayshree V Ullal

America’s richest self-made woman with her current net worth of around $1.9 billion. Jayshree V has been running Arista Networks since 2018 and owns about 5% of its shares. 

Neerja Sethi

This self-made Lady holds a total net worth of $1billion, the cofounder of an IT consulting and outsourcing firm Syntel accompanied by her husband Bharat Desai in 1980 in their apartment in Troy, Michigan, kicking off the business with an inceptive investment of just $2,000.

Neha Narkhede

Neha is the co-founder and former CTO of Confluent. Possess a total net worth of $490 million. Born and brought up in Pune, Narkhede went on to study Computer Science at Georgia Tech and turned out to be a software engineer at Linkedin.

Indra Nooyi

The former PepsiCo CEO with a grand net worth of $320 million. If sources are to be believed, Nooyi’s fortune was triggered by the stock she was granted following her sting at PepsiCo. But whatever it is, her constant effort and dedication make it to this.

Reshma Shetty

Reshma is the co-founder of Gingko Bioworks, a synthetic biotechnology company which was started in 2009 with four others, including her husband Barry Canton. She now has a net worth of $220 million.

Abided by tedious workloads and commitment meets, this woman of our country made history. Giving tough competition to patriarchy and challenging their norms, they managed to procure success with flying colours.
