UNITED STATES: Epic Games revealed a crossover event between the Shonen Juggernaut, Dragon Ball, and the fan favourite game, Fortnite, giving gamers a flavour of anime. The addition of popular anime to the Battle Royale game created a lot of excitement among gamers.
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super crossover gameplay trailer leaked
Before the official event, the long-awaited anime collaboration teaser trailer leaked online. The gameplay trailer will be released on August 16 at 1:30 p.m. IST by Epic Games. Fans have been waiting for the gameplay video since the announcement, and the leaked video has heightened curiosity about the crossover event.
A leaked Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super trailer shows gamers getting access to their favourite anime characters’ skins, which obviously include Goku and Vegeta. The leaked gameplay footage also revealed the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue versions’ skin, which adds to the fans’ anticipation. The video also features Beerus and Bulma skins.
The video also shows players hovering on the island in Dragon Ball-style gliders equipped with the fan-favorite Flying-Nimbus. The leaked clip also has a Saiyan Pod-style glider that is both innovative and entertaining.
In addition to the gliders and skins, the leaked teaser shows a glimpse of the classic Kamehameha attack. It is unclear whether players will be able to employ the energy attack or if it will simply be available in the game lobby.
The leaked crossover gameplay video also disclosed that gamers would be able to watch Dragon Ball clips in the gaming lobby. The integration of such anime aspects brings together the gaming and anime communities.
Fortnite crossover with popular entertainment icons
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super is not the first time the Battle Royale game has cooperated with a well-known entertainment element. Previously, in the fourth season, the game partnered with Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. Later in the eighth season, Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame joined the crossover lineup. In the ninth season, gamers were also accessible to John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum.
