Pinocchio: Disney’s Live-Action Take on the Beloved Classic Receives a Musical Trailer

UNITED STATES: After the teaser debut, Disney’s live-action take on Pinocchio gets a full-fledged trailer. The musical film starring Tom Hanks is set to premiere on Disney Plus, and the makers have released a visually stunning trailer ahead of the film’s release.

The video begins with a wonderful Pinocchio adventure. The live-action version appears visually stunning, with breathtaking set designs. The scene in which Pinocchio comes to life emerges as the video’s highlight. The beloved classic shares the magnificent quest of the characters in the trailer.

Pinocchio stars a talented ensemble cast

Robert Zemeckis helmed the live-action remake of Disney’s 1940s animated feature, Pinocchio. The director also wrote the screenplay along with Chris Weltz. Zemeckis is popular for directing the sci-fi action-comedy film, Back to the Future trilogy. The filmmaker has given widely acclaimed films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and won the Academy Award for Tom Hanks starred Forest Gump (1994).

Pinocchio is based on Carlo Collodi’s 1883 classic children’s book, “The Adventure of Pinocchio”. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the creator of Pinocchio. Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy and Luke Evans as The Coachman also join the film’s ensemble cast. Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana, Giuseppe Battiston as Stromboli, Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick, and Sheila Antim as Signora Vitelli also stars in musical fantasy film.

The Haunting of Bly Manor, famed Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, adds his voice to Pinocchio. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, popularly known for 500 Days of Summer and Inception, also stars in the film as Jiminy Cricket. Keegan-Michael Key, widely popular for the sketch series Key & Peele, joins the voice cast as Honest. Academy award nominee Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull rounds up the ensemble cast. 

Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio will arrive on Disney+. The musical fantasy film will be available to stream from September 8 on Disney+ day.

Besides Disney’s Pinocchio, Netflix has also revealed a new trailer of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio arriving in December 2022.
