Maganov, the Head Of Russian Oil, Died After “Falling From a Hospital Window”

RUSSIA: According to sources and reports in Russian media, Maganov, 67, passed away as a result of his injuries while receiving treatment at the city’s Central Clinical Hospital.

He is the most recent in a long line of prominent corporate leaders to pass away suddenly. Lukoil demanded that the battle come to an end soon after Russia invaded Ukraine.

The Lukoil board expressed its support for those affected by “this catastrophe” and demanded that the crisis in Ukraine end as soon as possible at the beginning of March.

Alexander Subbotin, a former senior manager of Lukoil, reportedly passed away in May under mysterious circumstances.

Maganov has worked at Lukoil since 1993, shortly after the company was founded, overseeing its refining, production and exploration, and became chairman in 2020. His brother, Nail, heads mid-sized Russian oil producer Tatneft ( TATN.MM ).

Ravil Maganov was a close associate of one of Lukoil’s founders, Vagit Alekperov.

Alekperov, a former Soviet deputy oil minister, resigned as president of Lukoil in April, a week after Britain imposed an asset freeze and travel ban on him as part of sanctions over Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.
