UNITED STATES: Following the conclusion of the third season of “The Mandalorian,” fans of the “Star Wars” franchise are eagerly anticipating the “Ahsoka” live-action series to hit their screens.

Titled “Ahsoka,” the upcoming show is set to debut on Disney+ this summer and promises to be a thrilling addition to the galaxy far, far away.

Fans can now mark their calendars for August 23, as the franchise has unveiled the official premiere date for the eight-episode series.

Taking place five years after the events of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and continuing the storyline from “The Mandalorian” Season 2, “Ahsoka” revolves around the character Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson.

The series will weave together various story elements from “Star Wars Rebels,” “The Mandalorian,” and “The Book of Boba Fett” and explore plot points following the aftermath of “Return of the Jedi.”

Joining Dawson in the cast are Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Mandalorian Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ghost’s star pilot Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as a young Jedi Padawan. Ezra Bridger, Ray Stevenson as Jedi Baylan Skoll, and Lars Mikkelsen as the blue-skinned Chiss strategist and “Heir to the Empire,” Grand Admiral Thrawn

Additionally, David Tennant will return to voice the lightsaber-crafting droid named Huyang, while Hayden Christensen will make a mysterious appearance as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader.

“Ahsoka” is helmed by “Star Wars” veteran Dave Filoni, known for his work on “The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels,” and “The Mandalorian.”

Filoni serves as the lead writer and executive producer of the series alongside co-executive producers Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Carrie Beck, and Karen Gilchrist.

The highly anticipated “Ahsoka” is the first of three upcoming live-action “Star Wars” series that the franchise initially teased at April’s Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.

The other two series include “The Acolyte,” featuring Amandla Stenberg, and “Skeleton Crew,” showcasing Jude Law.

Fans can catch “Ahsoka” exclusively on Disney+ starting August 23. As the premiere date approaches, the excitement builds up, and viewers are ready to embark on a new adventure in the “Star Wars” universe with this highly anticipated live-action series.
