Air Canada Moves Operations to Dubai International’s (DXB) Flagship Terminal 3

Emirates welcome the move that will significantly enhance the connecting experience

CANADA/UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Air Canada and Emirates, on July 25, 2023, announced the move of its operations to Dubai International’s (DXB) flagship Terminal 3 as of July 26. This will significantly improve connectivity and reduce the time to change flights for the customers of both airlines.

Air Canada, Canada’s flagship carrier and a founding member of Star Alliance, provides direct service to more than 180 airports globally. Emirates operates the largest fleet of wide-body Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft and serves over 140 cities on six continents.

The Benefits

 The Emirates First & Business Class Drop-off will offer dedicated check-in and bag drop counters for Air Canada Signature Class now and access to Aeroplan Elite members (Aeroplan 50K and above).

The Premium Economy and Economy will be located in the main entrance. Aeroplan and Skywards members will be able to enjoy a seamless and expedited experience with the convenience of remaining in the same terminal and also collect and redeem points when travelling with Air Canada or Emirates. 

The first Air Canada flight arrived on July 26 at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, and the same departed for Toronto on July 27. Starting October 30, 2023, Air Canada will start its direct flight between Vancouver and Dubai four times a week with its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

An enhanced codeshare relationship

Air Canada’s customers will now benefit from seamless onward connections to destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent with their codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates since Air Canada and Emirates have expanded their codeshare relationship to 42 routes from November 2022 onwards.

Both carriers have enhanced their underlying interline agreement and augmented a reciprocal loyalty partnership for customers to earn and redeem points. Furthermore, both carriers have enhanced cooperation between their Cargo businesses and have increased capacity in their respective hubs.
