INDIA: Commemorating former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his fourth death anniversary. The veteran BJP leader lived his last at the age of 93 and served three terms as Prime Minister of India. The supreme head is also the co-founder of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On the occasion of Vajpayee’s death anniversary PM Modi, President Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Home Minister Amit Shah along with many other leaders paid floral tribute to the renowned party leader at ‘Sadaiv Atal’.

The Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to his Twitter to pay respect to Atal Bihari Ji on his death anniversary, he wrote, “My tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji on his death anniversary.” The former Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu acknowledged Atal Bihari Vajpayee as “the tallest leader of our times” during the commemoration ceremony. 

The Bharat Ratna awardee contributed immensely, to reforming India. Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s supervision and good governance made the Central Government declare his birthday, marked as Good Governance Day.

He served as the Prime Minister of India during the process of making India a nuclear state in 1998. The BJP stalwart helped the party rise to power in the second half of the 1990s. Vajpayee was the first non-congress prime minister, who ruled for six years between 1998-2004. He marked his presence as the Member of Parliament for 47 years.

The greatest of all time, Vajpayee Ji was awarded the country’s second-highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan, in 1992 for his contribution to the country. Later he received India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2015. He was also the first External Affairs Minister, to give a speech at the UN Assembly in India’s official language Hindi.
