Previously, Call of Duty players could get Calling Cards in the Zombies mode to finish each main quest once or complete all the quests available in a game’s Zombies mode. However, the new DMZ mission system could allow for more demanding challenges, like completing several main quest Easter eggs within one gaming session. 

Additionally, players could get a rare Calling Card for completing two or more main quests in a row without dying. With the new tracking system, proper cross-map Easter eggs could become a reality.

The new Easter eggs could mean that players could find an item on the first Call of Duty 2024 Zombies map that unlocks a hidden area in the third map, which shows players where to go on the game’s second map for a reward. 

Having side Easter eggs spanning multiple maps could be new for Zombies, and they could provide exciting rewards that make the hunts worthwhile. 

The implementation of Easter eggs has been done before through Super Easter eggs or in Black Ops 1 Zombies, where players needed to use items from previous quests on Moon, but the new system could take things to the next level.

Treyarch, the developers behind the game, have wanted to feature multi-map quests in the past, but the new DMZ mission system may finally allow them to deliver on that promise. The system could also make daily missions more enjoyable by sending players to different maps. 

While some players are still coming to terms with the DMZ reset, the changes to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 2 missions are certainly a step in the right direction. 

The new multi-map challenges could provide a fresh experience for the game’s Zombies mode and give players exciting rewards for completing complex tasks. 

Treyarch has yet to confirm whether they will embrace the idea, but it certainly has potential. Fans of the game will be eagerly awaiting the release of the next update to see what other changes are in store.

UNITED KINGDOM: McLaren’s motorsport division has announced an updated version of its GT3-spec 720S that promises to deliver even more power and better aero and durability than its predecessor. 

McLaren GT3-Spec is ready for evo update

The track-only car is homologated for the 2023 season and features new quick-release fastenings that make it easier for teams to replace parts during races.

One of the critical changes made to the car is the redesigned body panels that generate additional downforce and transfer the car’s overall balance towards the front axle. 

The front hood gurney has also been updated to offer better balance and cooling, while the auxiliary lamps have been moved to provide improved visibility at night. The wing gurney is taller at the back to generate better downforce, and there’s also an adjustable wing pylon mechanism. 

The 720S GT3 Evo also features TTX40 Öhlins four-way adjustable dampers, new front and rear upper wishbones, closed face bells for the brakes, and new uprights.

The 720S GT3 Evo is available to order as a newly built car or as an upgrade package for existing vehicles. McLaren has also announced that the 750S will supersede the street-legal 720S. 

The McLaren 750S will be unveiled in both coupe and convertible body styles in April. With 740 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 engine, the car offers the “perfect blend” of the 720S and the hardcore 765LT.

According to the media, the 750S will be McLaren’s final non-electrified model and will carry a starting price of $342,000. The car is said to be sold out for this year and 2024 in the United States.

McLaren’s 720S GT3 Evo promises to be a force to be reckoned with on the track, with its improved aero and durability making it an attractive option for racing teams. Meanwhile, the forthcoming 750S looks set to build on the success of the 720S and offer even more power and performance.

UNITED KINGDOM: Mercedes has revealed their 2023 F1 car, the W14, which carries Mercedes’ hopes of winning back the F1 championship title.

The W14 is an evolution of last year’s W13 and retains the zero-pod design, and other vital features that the team believes will give them the edge they need to compete at the highest level.

Mercedes finished third in the F1 Constructors’ Championship last year, more than 200 points behind Red Bull. However, the team is not disheartened and has taken the time to learn from their mistakes to create a car that they believe will put them back in the championship fight.

The W14 was revealed at Silverstone, with race drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell and reserve driver Mick Schumacher in attendance. The team will follow up with a 100km shakedown to put the car through its paces. According to Mike Elliott, Mercedes’ tech boss, the changes to the W14 are “all in detail”.

The team has made significant bodywork changes while retaining the car’s core. The suspension has also been completely changed to help with the handling, which could be critical in the team’s championship fight.

The zero-pod design was a surprise innovation by Mercedes in the previous F1 season, and the team has no intention of moving away from it. Toto Wolff, the team’s motorsport boss, has emphasized the importance of finding their path and not copying other teams’ designs if they want to win.

Mercedes’ design of the slot gap separators on their front wing was a highlight of last season. Still, it was banned because the separators could not deliver an aero boost, and the rules at the time primarily mandated their use for mechanical, structural or measurement reasons. 

However, this year, the word “primarily” has been removed from the rules, which could allow Mercedes to reintroduce the design. Jenson Button, the 2009 World Champion, praised Mercedes for their performance last season, despite finishing third. He stated that the team must be doing something right if a third-place finish is considered a bad year.

Hamilton and Russell are due to take the W14 for shakedowns later in the day, and they hope to get a feel for the car’s new features and how they will perform in real-world conditions.

UNITED KINGDOM: McLaren Racing has launched its 2023 F1 team with a new car, the MCL60, in honour of its 60th anniversary since founder Bruce McLaren established the team. 

McLaren unveils new MCL60 Challenger

The MCL60 will feature Lando Norris as the senior driver in his fifth season in F1 and rookie Oscar Piastri, the 2021 Formula 2 champion, replacing Daniel Ricciardo. The car features the same papaya orange as McLaren, with light blue and black streaks. 

The MCL60’s on-track debut will come in the pre-season test at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 23. The first race of the season in Bahrain will start on March 5.

The team’s leadership has also changed, with Andrea Stella taking over Andreas Seidl’s position as team principal. Stella said it was an “honour” to lead McLaren Racing during the team’s 60th-anniversary season. 

CEO Zak Brown expressed excitement over McLaren’s 2023 F1 driver lineup, citing Norris as an “intelligent and confident” driver and Piastri as “one of the biggest up-and-coming talents in motorsport”. 

He also noted the challenges of the previous season in pushing towards the front of the grid. He added that the team had learnt a lot and was using the off-season to prepare for the new season.

UNITED STATES: A train carrying hazardous materials derailed on the night of February 3 in East Palestine, Ohio. The fumes from the burning of the chemicals are causing concern for residents and officials in the area.

Ohio train derailment

The train, operated by Norfolk Southern, was carrying a chemical called Vinyl Chloride and multiple other toxic chemicals.

Around 50 of the 150 rail cars derailed in the incident, of which 20 were reported to have been carrying hazardous materials. The materials included Vinyl Chloride, Butyl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Acrylate, and Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl ether.

The local residents and several other notable members of the society have blamed the government for purposefully suppressing the coverage of the train derailing incident. According to the East Palestine Fire Chief, the train’s derailment occurred around 10:30 p.m. and caused a leak of vinyl chloride from one of the cars. 

Vinyl chloride is a colourless gas that is used in the production of PVC and other plastics. It is highly flammable and can be dangerous if inhaled. The chemical can cause various health problems, including respiratory issues, skin irritation, and liver damage.

The Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency, East Palestine Fire Department, and other emergency responders responded to the scene. As a precautionary measure, the authorities immediately evacuated residents within a half-mile radius of the derailment.

The team of emergency responders worked to secure the area and contain the vinyl chloride leak. The team also made preparations for a controlled slow-burning of the chemical, which was necessary to avoid any catastrophic explosion.

The slow-burning was successfully executed on Friday morning, and the fire department neutralized the remaining vinyl chloride in the train. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, but authorities believe it may have been due to a problem with the tracks. 

The rail company responsible for the train has released a statement expressing their concern for the incident and promising to investigate the cause of the derailment. This incident has again brought attention to the risks associated with transporting hazardous materials by rail. 

The concern of residents and environmentalists in the area is that such incidents could cause damage to the local ecosystem, particularly if the chemical were to spill into nearby waterways.

According to a local environmental activist, the Ohio River, located nearby, is particularly vulnerable to pollution from industrial incidents such as this.

While these small asteroids are not usually large enough to cause significant damage if they were to impact the Earth’s surface, they can still pose a threat if they were to hit a populated area.

Despite the relatively small size of SAR 2667, the explosion serves as a reminder of the potential danger posed by NEOs. In recent years, scientists have been increasingly focused on identifying and tracking these objects in order to understand their trajectories and potential impacts.
