INDIA: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is developing its own space tourism module, which is expected to be both safe and reusable. According to ISRO Chairman S. Somnath, enthusiasts will be able to take a trip to space by 2030 at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore per ticket.

This announcement has generated excitement among space enthusiasts and the general public alike.

Senior officials from ISRO have confirmed that work on the space tourism module is gaining momentum and that the tickets will be available at competitive prices in the global market. However, it is not yet clear whether the module will include sub-orbital or orbital space travel.

The Rs 6 crore ($725926.46 price tag suggests that the module is likely to feature sub-orbital space travel, which involves spending around 15 minutes at the edge of space, experiencing low gravity for a few minutes, before descending back to Earth.

ISRO’s first human spaceflight program, Gaganyaan, is working on a number of technologies that are important building blocks for human space missions.

Scientists from ISRO have told the sources that ISRO is likely to partner with private firms for the development of the space travel module via the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe).

The ISRO chairman addressed the safety of the space mission and stated that they are using the Reusable Launch Vehicle-Technology Demonstration (RLV-TD) to learn more about the safety of spaceflights.

ISRO is bringing space experiences to the common people, and it is important to ensure that these trips are extremely safe, and their technologies pass safety clearances.

Companies like Blue Origin have already conducted suborbital flights with their reusable New Shepard rocket. Reusable rockets, which can travel to space more than once, increase the economic viability of spaceflight.

ISRO’s focus on developing a safe and reusable module is commendable, as it would make space travel more accessible and affordable for the public.

The space tourism module is expected to boost India’s position in the global space industry and open up new opportunities for research and development. The project also has the potential to create new jobs and boost the Indian economy.

The development by ISRO of a safe and reusable space tourism module is an exciting initiative that will make space travel accessible to the general public.

As the project moves forward, it is hoped that the module will be made soon. This would give the Indian space industry more chances to do research and development.
