UNITED STATES: Mike Pence revealed that his former boss Donald Trump was “wrong” in endeavoring to ask for the overturning of the 2020 election results.

He said, “History will hold Donald Trump accountable,” which was a part of a long series of rebukes from the erstwhile Vice President who allowed Trump to get off the hook for igniting a rebellion that resulted in multiple deaths.

Pence has paved the way for the former President to avoid accountability for the January 6 incident, first by avoiding speaking with the committee and then by attempting to implement a subpoena from the special council’s investigation.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump said, “In many ways, you can hold [Pence] responsible for January 6 because if he had returned the votes back to the legislatures, they wouldn’t have had a problem with it.”

He added, “You would have seen a different result if he had sent them back to Pennsylvania, Georgia, or Arizona—the states that are, in my opinion, ranked first. Yet, I also think you wouldn’t have had “Jan. 6,” as we refer to it.”

While the same interview was ongoing en route to Iowa, Trump added that, in light of the poor polling numbers in 2024, Pence agreed to what he said over the weekend.

Trump said, “I suppose he concluded that being polite was ineffective before. But, you know, he’s out there running for office. He is working quite hard. He’s a nice guy; I’ve known him, and up until the very end of our relationship, we got along great.”

This was one of the most absurd comments made by Donald Trump, where he also mentioned Pence’s responsibility for the January 6 incident, stating that his former VP had deserved the chants welcoming his hanging.
