UNITED STATES: A new DC project starring Idris Elba is speculated in development. The Hollywood celebrity recently hinted about his future DC collaboration in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango reporter Erik Davis.
Suicide Squad (2016) debuted to mixed reviews and fan reactions. However, James Gunn’s takes on The Suicide Squad (2021) explored a plethora of unique and intriguing comic book characters. The new Task Force X comprised a large lineup of DC comics supervillains and anti-heroes. The R-rated film’s highlights included Peacemaker, Bloodsport, Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Ratcatcher 2.
Peacemaker (John Cena) earned a spinoff show on HBO Max following the success of The Suicide Squad. The spinoff received favourable feedback from critics and audiences alike. It may now be time for Bloodsport (Idris Elba) to get his film or television series.
A Bloodsport spinoff might be in development
Idris Elba discussed his upcoming film Beast in an interview with Erik Davis. The Hollywood actor teased his upcoming DC project when questioned about his forthcoming Marvel or DC ventures. Elba was recently seen reprising his role as Heimdall in Thor: Love and Thunder, although the character is dead in the MCU but appeared in a surprise cameo in the post-credit scene.
Idris Elba’s character of Bloodsport was first featured in The Suicide Squad as the main character in the storyline. The character’s command of advanced weapons and high-tech guns that can transform into practically any arsenal tool enthralled admirers. The persona’s powerful body armour and skull-shaped bulletproof helmet also provide him with a powerful appearance.
The Suicide Squad starred Bloodsport as the leader of Task Force X, plus the character also shared history with Superman. He was put in prison for attacking Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. As a result, the character’s potential is ensured, and Idris Elba’s outstanding performance adds a new level of excitement to DC’s comic book persona.
Based on Elba’s interview, a Bloodsport solo film or spinoff series may be in the works at Worlds of DC.
