Recently, in an ongoing interview, Kareena Kapoor is questioned about the rise of debates on pay parity in showbiz and her demand of Rs 12 crore for her role as goddess Sita. According to hearsay, she charged this amount from the production house of an upcoming cult movie ‘Ramayana’.

The actress simply gave a one-line answer that she didn’t feel the need to give any explanation because no such role was offered to her. Later she added, “The reason I never gave any explanation for that is that I was never offered that film. I don’t even know why I was put into that because I wasn’t even the choice for the film. These all are made-up stories, and I don’t want to put anybody down because even they need stories. People look for some story on Instagram every day, but I don’t know where it came.”

The flamboyant actor is also trolled by fans, calling her “greedy” for demanding such a pay hike for a Hindu mythological movie. Kapoor said, “I make it quite clear what I want, and I think that respect should be given. It’s not about being demanding; it’s about being respectful towards women, and I think things are kind of changing.”
