Kengan Ashura Season 2: Netflix Unveiled the Release Date of the Martial Arts Anime

JAPAN: Kengan Ashura is set to return for Season Two, and recently, the anime series also bagged a release date. The martial arts anime captivated the fans with intriguing fight sequences and unique CG animation. Season One debuted in 2019, and now the anime is gearing up to release the second instalment.

Netflix shared the release date of Kengan Ashura Season Two 

Netflix announced the release date of Kengan Ashura Season Two. The streaming giant shared the update on Twitter and various social media handles. The tweet read, “the moment we’ve been waiting for…Kengan Ashura Season 2 is coming to Netflix in 2023!”

According to the tweet, Kengan Ashura Season Two will hit Netflix in 2023. Besides the release year, the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Season One was last aired in 2019, and given the release date of the upcoming season, there is a significant gap between both instalments. So, fans have to wait quite a long time for Season Two’s arrival.

Aside from the release date, Netflix also revealed a new key visual for the second Season. The poster depicts famous anime characters in action. Ohma Tokita is seen with blood all over his face and body. The key visual reads, “Season 2 coming 2023.”

The series is based on Yabako Sandrovich’s manga of the same name. Daromeon illustrated the manga series while Sandrovich penned the story. So far, 10 volumes have been released since January 17, 2019.

Netflix adapted the manga into an anime series in 2019. Kengan Ashura Season One was released in two parts. The first twelve episodes debuted in July 2019, and the remaining twelve episodes were released in October 2019.

Seiji Kishi directed Kengan Ashura Season One. The director has previously helmed the Assassination Classroom anime series, Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days, and Classroom of the Elite Season One and Two.

Makoto Uezu and Go Zappa provided the story for Kengan Ashura Season One. Yasuharu Takanashi composed the music for the anime. Yasuharu’s notable works include Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Idaten Jump, and Fairy Tail. 

Studio Larx Entertainment developed the anime adaptation of Kengan Ashura. The studio also has animated Tekken: Bloodline under the banner of Netflix.
