AUSTRALIA: Pakistan won the match against Bangladesh at Adelaide on November 6. Afridi took 4 wickets, while Haris scored a quickfire 31. Shanto’s half-century was the only stand-out performance from Bangladesh.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. This was an exciting match as whoever won the match qualified for the semi-final because earlier in the day, Netherlands surprisingly beat South Africa.

Bangladesh Innings

Najmul Shanto and Litton Das opened the innings for Bangladesh. Shaheen removed Bangladesh’s key batsman Das early in the innings. After this, BAN was 40-1 in the power play. Shanto and Sarkar needed to stay in the crease and attack accordingly to post a good total.

BAN did not lose wickets but was scoring at a low pace and scored only 70 runs in the 10th over. After the very next over, Shadab took back to back 2 wickets.

The second wicket (of Shakib Al Hasan), although, was a big blunder by the third umpire as there was a clear spike in the snicko when the ball passed the bat. Still, he was given out.

Pakistan Innings

Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan opened the innings for Pakistan. Both the openers were timing the ball pleasingly. Pak scored  34 runs in the power play, which was pretty good as the run rate was not too high.

With Babar and Rizwan still in the crease, PAK scored 56 runs by the end of the 10th over. But soon after the drinks break, BAN got their first breakthrough by removing Babar (25) and also dismissed Rizwan (32) in the very next over.
