Royal Challenger Bangalore’s innings
SRH won the toss and chose to field first. RCB got a new opening combination of Aaron finch and Devdutt Padikkal. RCB’s start was simply explosive. The partnership of 50 run came at 5.3 overs. Padikkal was more dominant in the partnership. After first powerplay RCB was 54-0.
Padikkal scored his maiden fifty in IPL in only 36 balls. But, he finally got out at 56(42b, 8×4). Finch followed him immediately. He got LBW out to newcomer Abhishek Sharma for 29 runs. Captain Virat Kohli did not last long either. He was held out in deep mid-wicket on the bowling of Natrajan for 14.
AB Devilliers batted authoritatively and he was very brutal on the bowlers. Before being run out, he scored 51(30b, 4×4, 2×6). Due to his gutsy hitting, in the end, RCB scored 163 for 5 wickets. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was a very economical bowler for SRH as he gave only 25 runs in his 4 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings
SRH began their inning on a disastrous note. When it looked all well for David Warner, he was runout at non-striker end as he was backing too much. But a partnership of runs between Bairstow and Manish Pandey steadied the inning. Pandey perished while trying to increase the run rate for 34. Bairstow continued his inning with some good shots. He was bowled by Chahal for 61(43.b, 6×4,2×6). Two consecutive wickets by Chahal brought some life to the game.
In Shivam Dube’s over, Priyam Garg was bowled while trying to scoop. In the same over, Abhishek Sharma was run out. While taking the second run, he had unfortunately collided with Rashid. From 121 for 3, SRH score quickly escalated to 135 for 6. Saini removed Bhuvaneshwar and Rashid in a single over. SRH lost last seven wickets for just 32 runs. SRH were bundled out for 153, eventually handing RCB 10 runs victory. Chahal got 3 wickets whereas Dube and Saini took 2 wickets each. Yuzvendra Chahal was given the Man of the Match Award.
