While there are innumerable western books to read, there is a host of new Indian writers who’ve sprung on the writing scenario. The equations have changed, and many feel now that writing a book is what makes them truly happy as they can vent their feelings and articulate their thoughts through the words penned down in these books.

I loved reading these three titles and would generously recommend them to anyone desiring to gain something from a bibliophile.

The three books that touched my heart during my journey to becoming an author are as below:

The 2SHES By Abhinav Kaushik

Introducing a book immediately after Valentine’s day makes sense because the romantic novel begins with two lovers who’ve had to face their breakup, on their 1st Valentine’s day. The story is intense with feelings of love, joyride, and sadness. It is a story of the discovery of the lost love by the protagonist and the surprises that the readers would benefit from reading at every minute and more so at the turn of events, exhilarating, scintillating, and exciting, whilst one reaches at the end of the novel.

Business As Usual By Deepak Chawla

The novel is set in the urban corporate environment, people whose convictions and values are huge, surmount difficult situations. Those who’d love to read books around corporate themes, culture, gossips, relationships, and the struggle that professionals face would admire the short stories.

Set in an Indianised corporate scenario, these stories are woven around different voices in the corporate arena, with both male and female characters being there. There are five chapters; each chapter can be read with newness and as one delves into the chapters, more variety can be seen interwoven through the stories. The chapters: Journeys beyond destinations, Balance of fate, In good faith, Choices, and convictions, More wishes than stars. A short book, with mighty messages!

Reboot To Reconquer By Nalin Singh

The book is purposely kept last in the reads; because it is about the midlife transition and the midlife crisis, which each individual has to face. Hence, this book is reviewed at the end of a full journey of life.

In the author’s own words, At the peak of your professional and social pride, arrogance and financial well-being, your life will stutter and stop playing to your tune. A time when you will exchange emotions for clinical symptoms and your regrets will outnumber your hopes. A time when you have lost the moral clarity of youth and the emotional havoc within the dark chambers of your mind are sentimentally deluding you into unchartered territory. Welcome to MIDLIFE!

He says, “ A midlife crisis is when a person makes seemingly random or even crazy decisions in their lives.” Filled with examples from people from the real world: those that inspire, celebrity implosions, those that repeatedly beg the question-Why? those we watch with some trepidation.

The book is laboriously penned down and is all about finding, how to navigate the midlife crisis and find solace, serenity while fulfilling passions that one would love to imbibe, rather than face those dictated by society.
