Importance of entrepreneurship in today’s world

Dr. Sanjeev thinks that creating a successful brand to the point where it leaves a personal legacy behind is appealing and serves as motivation for many entrepreneurs. Leadership is the process through which an entrepreneur can influence employees to achieve the objectives of the organization. However, entrepreneurs need to identify staffing needs, expertly fill them, and lead the team to success.

“Have an idea for a product or service that has the potential to make a huge impact? Go for it –nothing is stopping you! There is no greater shot of adrenaline than the one you receive after reaching a goal and knowing you worked extremely hard to get to that point. You are going to get hit and knocked down. Learning to take the punches and continuing to get up turns you into a stronger business owner and individual. Entrepreneurs are competitive by nature. The goal is to constantly improve and grow, so turn it into a personal competition. No idea is too crazy and no goal is too big when you are an entrepreneur — you can dream as big as you want,” says Dr. Sanjeev.

Digital entrepreneurship and its role in innovation

Dr. Sanjeev believes that today’s technologies and resources have given greater opportunities to the entreprenuers. However, increased globalization also creates new collaborative opportunities that give entrepreneurs access to greater resources for addressing major problems. While today’s resources and opportunities can certainly help entrepreneurs solve the world’s biggest challenges, nothing compares to the unique mindset shared by all entrepreneurs.

“We live in truly tumultuous times. Social distancing, stock-market roller coasters, and the suspension of business operations nationwide have created an uncertain atmosphere, to say the least. Meanwhile, climate change, income inequality, racial unrest, and other issues continue to manifest anxiety, fear, and even anger for many. While these problems can seem overwhelming, history has repeatedly taught us that there is no reason to lose hope. People have consistently found solutions to the world’s biggest problems — and entrepreneurs are often at the forefront,” he added.

Future of Entrepreneurship

The ‘hyper-growth mode’ that many companies are experiencing today is the biggest change in entrepreneurship. Nowadays, technology platforms and technical infrastructure has helped multinational and small companies alike. Tech giant Facebook has used these systems to propel its growth in mobile. On the other hand, many small companies are also taking advantage of these technologies to grow. Today’s situation has brought an immense amount of opportunity for many companies. However, it has also brought a certain of challenges.

Talking about the future of entrepreneurship he said, “The challenge of the future for every entrepreneur will be people, not product. Today the future of entrepreneurship looks extremely bright. Today an entrepreneur can access a global market for sales and a global market for suppliers as well.”

“As companies reshape themselves to compete in the innovation economy, the opportunities for entrepreneurs are exponential and communities are realizing that entrepreneurship is vital to the growth and vitality of every local economy, both contributing to the attraction of entrepreneurship as a viable and valued occupation. We are entering the age of the entrepreneur,” he added.

A message to the young entrepreneurs

Dr. Sanjeev emphasized that the prime concern of the entrepreneurs should be in making their nation a self-reliant community. Giving a message to rising entrepreneurs, he said, “We live in a world where the ability to change minds and start a movement can all hinge on a tweet or post by an ‘influencer’ with a high number of followers can actually help in social activism. However, I would ask the young people to be authentic.”
