UNITED STATES: Sony Pictures Animation is gearing up for the release of the most-awaited film, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse. Following critical acclaim and great fan feedback, Sony Pictures announced two Spider-Man films as a follow-up to the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s new poster elevates the anticipation

Earlier this year, the studio released the first look, which elevated fans’ excitement for the animated film. Christopher Miller, the film’s executive producer, has now shared the new poster for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on his Twitter account. The tweet read, “Here is a fun little poster made for the Across the Spider-Verse crew.”

The key visual depicts Miles Morales fighting Spider-Man 2099. The poster’s art style and unique design also catch our eye. The image appears to depict a scene from the first look, which also features both Spider-Men in action. The presence of both fan-favourite characters in the poster magnifies the film’s anticipation.

With its distinct art style, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse revolutionised animated filmmaking. The movie depicted the story of our favourite, Miles Morales and brought back comic books to life on the big screen. The animated feature gave us the impression that we were reading a comic book instead of watching a movie.

Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman’s directorial vision in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse also served as a fantastic aspect of the film. Continuing the legacy of having a trio of directors, Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson are set to helm Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Shameik Moore is returning as Miles Morales/Spider-Man. Hailee Steinfeld also joined the ensemble cast as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman. Oscar Issac as Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man are also set to return in the film.

Issa Rae is also confirmed as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman. Brain Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, and Jason Schwartzman are also set to join the film’s ensemble cast.

Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham handed the screenplay for the animated superhero film. Daniel Pemberton will also return to compose the music as the first film received high praise for the BGM.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will debut in theatres on June 2, 2023, and its sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, will also arrive on the big screens on March 29, 2024.
