UNITED STATES: The Boxing Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury slammed the judges for ‘destroying Jack Catterall’s life’ after losing his controversial split decision to Josh Taylor.

Catterall delivered a formidable performance and appeared to be the favorite to win their undisputed title fight late last month in Scotland.

Taylor, however, triumphed against all odds, winning 114-111, 113-112, and 112-113.

The scorecards sent shockwaves through the boxing world, prompting the British Boxing Board of Control to launch an official investigation.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has also expressed his displeasure. ‘I think the judging is a disgrace these days,’ he told BT Sport Boxing. ‘I believe they need a good kicking in the *** for it.’

‘They can’t change their minds now, and they’ve destroyed Jack Catterall’s life and career.’ It’s a disgrace.’ Catterall has even claimed corruption in the sport, claiming that he has ‘lost respect’ for the BBBofC and is rapidly ‘losing confidence.’ The organization’s general secretary, Robert Smith, was very surprised by judge Ian John-Lewis’ score. John-Lewis will be called to explain why a 114-111 awarded Taylor the fight. ‘I have a lot of respect for Rob and the British Boxing Board, but I’m losing faith in them right now,’ Catterall admitted to talkSPORT.

‘Robert Smith said the fight was close – there wasn’t a single another person, promoter, journalist, broadcaster, or fight fan who thought it was even remotely close.’ It sickens me that he said the fight was close. ‘I’m not sure what fight he was watching, but we all saw the reaction ringside from the promoters, Sky, and commentators.’ It’s disgusting.’
