UNITED STATES: Singing sensations Sam Smith and Madonna have come up with a highly anticipated collaboration, ‘Vulgar.’ As per reports, ‘Vulgar’ is a throbbing dance track that aims to reclaim the titular adjective for your own pleasure.

The pair each give their own frenzied, spoken-word renditions of the song’s verses, with Sam Smith adamantly asserting that “you know you’re beautiful when they call you ‘vulgar’.” The new track has left fans excited. One social media user wrote “Woaah”. Another one commented, “Fire.”

‘Vulgur’ comes after weeks of teasing from the duo. Smith first teased the collaboration in a video posted on social media, in which the two yell “Sam and Madonna” repeatedly. The pair restyled their names together as “S&M” when they announced the track last week.

Last August, Madonna released a sizable 50-track retrospective CD titled ‘Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones’ in advance of her global, hits-themed “Celebration” world tour, which begins in Vancouver next month.

‘Vulgar’ is one of the several guest appearances she has made in recent weeks, including songs with the Weeknd, Christine, and the Queen.

Both Madonna and Smith are currently ramping up their live performances; after wrapping up the European part of their Gloria Tour, Smith is bringing their show here beginning on July 25.

Meanwhile, Madonna’s much-anticipated Celebration Tour is scheduled to begin this summer on July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Since the 2023 Grammy Awards, Madonna and Smith have been intertwined. Before Smith and Petras’ gritty performance of “Unholy,” the “Vogue” vocalist described them as fellow “rebels” and “troublemakers” who are “forging a new path.”

The use of demonic images and sexual overtones in the performance, a following performance at the Brit Awards, and the song’s music video have all garnered criticism.
