UNITED STATES: WhatsApp, the renowned instant messaging platform owned by Meta, has unveiled an exciting new feature that promises to revolutionize the way users interact with each other.

The latest addition, real-time video messages, allows WhatsApp users to send and receive short video messages in their chats, adding a personalized touch to their conversations.

The rollout of WhatsApp’s real-time video messaging feature has already commenced, with availability expanding to users worldwide in the coming days.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive of Meta, this addition mirrors the ease of sending a quick voice message, making it simple for users to adopt the new method of communication seamlessly.

Users can send video messages of up to 60 seconds in duration, allowing for quick and concise exchanges of real-time experiences, heartfelt birthday wishes, exciting announcements, or vital information sharing.

The feature promises to enhance emotional expression and provide a more immersive communication experience compared to traditional text-based messages.

Sending a video message is as easy as ever. To switch to video mode, users need to tap and hold the icon situated to the right of the text field. By swiping up to lock, they can start recording their video message effortlessly, just like they do with voice notes.

Once the recipient opens the video message in the chat, it will play automatically, initially without sound. However, a simple tap on the video activates the sound, adding an extra layer of engagement to the viewing experience.

WhatsApp’s commitment to user-centric updates has been evident in recent months. The platform previously introduced the option to automatically silence calls from unknown numbers, granting users greater control over their communication preferences.

Additionally, the ability to edit a sent message within 15 minutes of sending it further demonstrated WhatsApp’s dedication to providing a smooth and mistake-friendly communication environment.

As part of its ongoing developments, WhatsApp is also rumored to be working on introducing usernames on the platform, offering users enhanced personalization and customization options in their interactions.

For users eager to explore the realm of real-time video messaging, the wait is almost over. While the feature’s rollout is ongoing, tech-savvy individuals can manually access it by updating their WhatsApp app to the latest version from the Google Play Store or App Store.
