PHILIPPINES: Philippines police have filed a charge of rape with homicide against 11 men for the death of a flight attendant on New Year’s Day. 23-year-old flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera was found dead in an empty bathtub of a hotel room. Three friends and hotel staff had rushed her to the hospital after finding her unconscious in an empty bathtub of their hotel room. She was later declared dead at a hospital. According to the reports, Dacera had come to the hotel to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her friends.

In an open statement, Makati City police chief Colonel Harold Depositar has said that a charge of rape with homicide was filed on Monday against 11 people who were with Dacera. The accused were living in the adjacent hotel rooms at the time of her death. Meanwhile, three respondents have been nabbed by the police while the other eight are still absconding. Out of the 11 people, three respondents were Dacera’s friends. The other men were Dacera’s acquaintances. She came to know about them through her common friends.

According to the autopsy, bruises, contusions and scratches were found on Dacera’s arms and legs. The Makati City police are going to submit the autopsy findings and the toxicology report on Tuesday. “While Dacera’s death may have initially been found to be natural from an aneurysm – there were factors that contributed to it, Depositar said.
