Andy Muschietti set to direct Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Following the joining of new DCU CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, the Worlds of DC faces a major change in its kind of rebooted-cinematic universe.
In January, Gunn announced a tonne of DCU projects in the new film lineup. Among all the titles, the upcoming movie of Cape Crusader, “Batman: The Barve and the Bold,” generated massive excitement among fans (Cause why not ?)
Since the announcement of the new Batman movie, DC fans have been anticipating about leading cast and especially the director.
Now the wait is over; Batman: The Brave and the Bold has found its director. Andy Muschietti will add his directorial vision to the film.
The Brave and the Bold is based on the comic book series by Grant Morrison. Thus the forthcoming project will bring a new big-screen version of Batman, an addition to the Bat Family universe. Along with Bruce Wayne as the new Dark Knight, the film will also introduce his son Damian Wayne.
Gunn and Safran said that they had seen The Flash before taking over at DC Studios and knew they were in the hands of not only a visionary director but also a huge DC fan.
It’s a fantastic film – humorous, poignant, exhilarating – and Andy’s affinity and passion for these characters and this universe really vibrates through every frame, they remarked.
Gunn and Safran went on to say that when it came to finding a director for The Brave and the Bold, there was basically just one option, and luckily, Andy said yes.
Both CEOs stated that Barbara had agreed to produce with them and that they were on their way. They went on to say that Andy and Barbara are an incredible team, and they couldn’t ask for better or more inspiring companions as they embark on this fascinating new adventure in the DCU.
Muschietti’s sister Barbara, will bankroll the upcoming big project under the banner of Double Dream, besides Gunn and Safran. However, no screenwriter is yet finalized. More information about the film is awaited.
