ISRAEL: On Friday, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in the Gaza strip, resulting in the death of a top Hamas commander, Merad Abu Merad. The IDF, via its official Telegram channel, confirmed that Merad was the leader of the Hamas Aerial System.

“During the strike, IAF fighter jets killed Merad Abu Merad who was the head of the Hamas Aerial System in Gaza City, and was largely responsible for directing terrorists during the massacre on Saturday,” the Israeli air Force (IAF) wrote on X.

The IDF said that as part of its ongoing operations, they also targeted terror targets operated by Hamas and many “Nukhba” terrorists from the Gaza Strip.

“The IDF is continuing to strike Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip; dozens of ‘Nukhba’ terrorist operatives, as well as the head of the Hamas Aerial System were killed,” said the IDF.

“Last night (Friday), IDF fighter jets conducted wide-scale strikes throughout the Gaza Strip. These included dozens of Hamas terror targets as well as ‘Nukhba’ terrorist operatives that were in a staging ground in the Gaza Strip. ‘Nukhba’ terrorist operatives were one of the leading forces that led the infiltration into Israel last Saturday,” it further added.

Furthermore, IDF fighter jets conducted strikes on the operational headquarters of the Hamas terrorist organisation throughout the day on Friday, which served as a command center for their aerial activities..

A large-scale evacuation of Gazans began yesterday as Israel’s military ordered approximately a million of them to flee towards the southern part of the enclave.

The order came in response to Israel’s threat of a potential ground invasion, saying that it will “operate significantly in Gaza City” in the next few days.

In retaliation for the Hamas’ horrific terror rampage on October 7, Israel has enforced a “complete siege” on the densely populated Gaza Strip, resulting in severe shortages of electricity, food, water, and fuel.

As per the Health Ministry, the relentless bombardment in Gaza has tragically claimed the lives of at least 1,900 Palestinians, including journalists, medical professionals, and numerous civilians.

Over 400,000 Palestinians had been displaced from their homes internally, even before the evacuation alert was issued, as reported by the UN.
