I am a second year student studying in University of Leeds, UK. I love writing articles, researching on controversial topics and giving voice to silent thoughts.

INDIA. Nagpur, Maharashtra. A generous young woman is spending her time helping the underprivileged children of India, Bangladesh, and Egypt. Ishita Chattaraj was born in the heart of Maharashtra and is a computer science graduate. She volunteers with the United Nations (UN), and is also a youth activist for PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). Perhaps most importantly, Ishita provides the gift of education to disadvantaged children. She teaches various subjects including English, science, and maths to students from Bangladesh, India, and Egypt.

A young woman of many talents. Through a Twitter post, she got connected with a UN program to help education deprived youth. She spoke about the surreal experience of working with less fortunate children and helping them learn. At times, balancing her academics and teaching online became a tedious task, especially since she was also playing cricket at a state level.

She loves reading and writing. In her spare time, Ishita has a keen interest in writing articles. Books also have unique magic, which fascinate her. In a Transcontinental Times interview, she named Ruskin Bond as both her favorite author and her inspiration. She feels that writing releases her true self and the side nobody knows. “When I write articles I can be anyone I choose”, she said. Ishita believes that writing is a gift to the world.

Passion for her native language runs deep. She feels that many people in her home country are ashamed of speaking their national language, which is Hindi. Part of her mission is to promote Hindi literature on a global platform. Ishita pleads with her Indian brothers and sisters to take pride in speaking Hindi, which is part of their culture and heritage.

Given her numerous achievements and commendable social work, Ishita has set the benchmark for motivated young people everywhere. She leads by example, showing us that the sky is the limit when it comes to changing the world.
