Nigerian Police Pays N60 Million to Family of Slain Officers

NIGERIA. Niger State: The Niger State Police Command has awarded N60 million naira cheques to 30 family members of police personnel who died while serving in the Nigeria Police Force between 2020 and 2021.

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Commissioner of Police (CP) Monday Bala Kuryas, presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, psc (+), NPM, FDC, to the families of the slain officers in Minna, the Niger state capital. It is said that the gesture is part of the IGP’s “Group Life Assurance,” aimed at extending a helping hand to the families.

On Monday, the state command of the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Wasiu A. Abiodun, sent a communique with this statement.

Kuryas also praised the IGP for beginning such an outstanding campaign, which will bring solace to the officers’ families. As a result, he urged the recipients’ families to make wise use of the resources provided to improve their lives.

As a result, the benefiting family members praised Usman, Kuryas, and the federal and state governments for putting a smile on their faces and assuring the IGP that the fund would be put to good use to improve their lives.
