Ring of Honor Wrestling Legend Jay Briscoe Dies in a Car Accident

The 38-year-old wrestling legend and a woman passed away in the fatal incident

UNITED STATES: Jay Briscoe, a wrestler for Ring of Honor, passed away in a Delaware car accident at the age of 38.

Jamin Pugh was one of the Briscoe brothers who, along with Mark, ruled the RoH scene for two decades and formed the world champion tag team. His real name was Jamin Pugh.

Tony Khan, All Elite Wrestling’s owner, who bought Ring of Honor last year, announced Briscoe’s demise via Twitter.

Khan wrote, “Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away.” He added that Jay Briscoe was a star in ROH for more than 20 years, dating back from the first show to the present.

Jamin Pugh was known to fans as Jay Briscoe. Jay and Mark, his brother, dominated ROH and are the reigning champions of the event.

The Wrestling Observer reports that two children, one of whom, is in critical condition, were in Briscoe’s car at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday. According to media sources, a woman in a different vehicle also passed away on the spot.

Briscoe and his brother had shared a picture on Twitter just a few hours earlier to mark their 13-year reign as tag team champions.

Triple H, a wrestling legend from the rival organization, WWE, said that Briscoe was a phenomenal performer who made a lasting impression on wrestling fans worldwide. He sent his sympathies to Jay Briscoe’s loved ones and friends.

Matt Hardy, a WWE co-star, tweeted that he heard about this tragic news in the middle of a flight. Hardy said he had the honor of working with Jay numerous times and that Jay was a hero.

In a statement, RoH expressed their deep sadness about the tragic death of Jamin Pugh. The organization added that he was better known as Jay Briscoe to wrestling fans worldwide. “We are thinking of his loved ones, friends, and fans,” the tweet said.
