UNITED STATES: Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse catapulted to a massive level of excitement on its trailer release. The clip of the upcoming Spidey film created a tsunami of anticipation among fans by featuring multiple alternate versions of our beloved Marvel character.

Now, the makers have dropped a new visual from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that offers new details for the upcoming feature.

The official social media handle of the animated film shared the new key visual. The tweet read, “Spotted in the bodega. #SpiderVerse.”

The picture features Miles in his new Spider-Man costume which was also featured in the trailer. What piques the viewers’ curiosity most is Spot standing in front of Spidey. Though, only the foot of the antagonist is illustrated in the image.

The visual hints that it might be the first-time face-off of both characters. They both appear to be standing in some kind of departmental store.

For the unknown, Spot is a supervillain persona of Dr. Jonathan Ohnn appearing in Marvel comics. He especially acts as the major antagonist to Spider-Man.

His powers consist of having the ability to open and close interdimensional portals. Though his super abilities can be used for absolute major or grandiose events, he mainly uses them to commit crimes, especially robbery.

The Spider-Verse director Kemp Powers recently told in an interview with the media that Spot will play a major role in the upcoming films. The filmmaker added that Spot is a fascinating antagonist because, although appearing to be a joke, his abilities have enormous potential.

Powers further stated that Spot is ideally suited for the Spider-Verse because of his capacity to open portals across dimensions. The director said that the character is the antagonist in the upcoming two movies (Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse).

He specifically mentioned that Spot and Miles are connected in a surprising manner. Given the filmmaker’s hint about the character, it appears the makers have planned something very unique for the fans.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse earlier also bagged a visual featuring a clear glimpse of Miles fighting with Spot. The image provides the antagonist using his ability to fight our beloved Marvel character.

Besides the new visual, the makers shared a brand-new poster featuring multiple versions of Spider-Man a few days ago. However, the image bagged the majority of responses for featuring Spider-Man India, aka Pavitra Prabhakar.

The character has become the talk of the town since the teaser release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The clip featured Miles travelling across Mumbaitan (a fusion city of Mumbai and Manhattan), which is also the major universe of Pavitra Prabhakar. If we keep posters and concept art aside, the character is yet to be featured in any trailer or teaser.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is helmed under the directorial vision of filmmaker trio Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.

The animated Spidey film features Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Oscar Isaac, and many more as the voice cast.
