Lewis Hamilton Blamed by Red Bull’s Helmut Marko for Alex Albon’s Career Struggles

UNITED KINGDOM: Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, has blamed Lewis Hamilton for the downfall of Alex Albon’s Formula 1 career. Albon, now an established member of the F1 midfield as the lead driver at Williams, faced a turbulent period during his time at Red Bull Racing, ultimately leading to his departure from the team after just a year and a half alongside Max Verstappen.

Albon’s journey at Red Bull started on a high note, with a rapid promotion from Toro Rosso in mid-2019 to replace Pierre Gasly. 

However, his form took a nosedive during his tenure, and Marko believes that part of this decline was the impact of two crucial incidents involving Lewis Hamilton.

The first incident occurred during the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix, when Albon was in second place. Hamilton, attempting to overtake Gasly for third, made contact with Albon, spinning him out and forcing him to finish in 14th place. 

Hamilton received a five-second penalty for the collision. The second collision happened during the first race of the COVID-affected 2020 season, the Austrian Grand Prix. 

Albon, who had just pitted for soft tires and was in contention for victory, was once again hit by Hamilton, causing him to retire due to an electrical issue. Hamilton received another five-second penalty and finished fourth.

Marko suggests that these incidents significantly impacted Albon’s confidence and self-belief. According to Marko, the collisions robbed Albon of potential podium finishes and shattered his confidence. 

As a result, Red Bull decided to replace Albon with veteran Sergio Perez for the following year, seeking two solid drivers to fight for the championship.

Despite his struggles, Albon remained an essential part of the Red Bull team in 2021, serving as their reserve driver and contributing to simulator work and development. His efforts behind the scenes played a crucial role in Max Verstappen’s title victory. 

Red Bull supported Albon in the driver market, eventually helping him secure a seat with Williams for the current season.

While Albon’s career at Red Bull did not pan out as expected, Marko’s comments shed light on his challenges and the impact of the incidents involving Lewis Hamilton.

For example, if we stand still on a train platform and observe a moving train, we can easily distinguish between the stationary platform and the moving train. 

However, according to Galileo’s observations and subsequent scientific theories, there is no absolute reference frame against which we can measure all motion. This observation means that all movement is relative and that no preferred frame of reference exists.

To understand the paradox, let’s consider a thought experiment. Imagine you are standing on a train, moving at a constant velocity. Inside the train, you see a ball roll forward along the aisle.

The Rayleigh-Jeans law was at the heart of the problem, an equation developed independently by Lord Rayleigh and Sir James Jeans. This law describes the energy a black body emits as a function of its temperature and wavelength. 

According to classical physics, as the wavelength decreased towards the ultraviolet region, the energy of the radiation was expected to increase without bounds.

This move signals a significant step towards rebuilding MV Agusta’s limited dealer network in the Asian region, offering Japanese riders more access to the brand’s iconic motorcycles.

The distribution agreement between KTM and MV Agusta aligns with the global strategic partnership established by Pierer Mobility, the parent company of KTM.

Russian Astronomers Discover 14 New Active Galactic Nuclei in Eastern Sky

RUSSIA: In a groundbreaking observational campaign, Russian astronomers using the Spectrum-RG (SRG) spacecraft and two ground-based telescopes have identified 14 new active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in the eastern Galactic sky.

The findings, which shed light on the energetic phenomena occurring at the centres of galaxies, were published on June 6 in the journal Astronomy Letters.

Active galactic nuclei are highly luminous regions situated at the core of galaxies, outshining the surrounding galaxy’s light. Their intense energy emissions are an attribute of the presence of either a black hole or vigorous star formation activity within the galaxy.

The team, led by Grigory Uskov of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, focused on investigating complex X-ray sources in the eastern half of the Galactic sky. 

To achieve this, they utilized the ART-XC and eROSITA telescopes aboard the SRG spacecraft, along with the 1.6-metre AZT-33IK telescope at the Sayan Observatory in Russia and the 1.5-metre Russian-Turkish telescope (RTT-150) at the TUBITAK National Observatory in Turkey.

Their study detected 14 previously unknown AGNs relatively close to Earth, with redshifts ranging from 0.015 to 0.238. The team found all of these AGNs hosted by Seyfert galaxies, including one NLSy1 type, three Sy1 types, four Sy1.9 types, and six Sy2 types. 

The X-ray luminosities of these AGNs fell within the typical range of 1 to 100 tredecillion erg/s for AGNs in the current epoch.

The astronomers then constructed broadband X-ray spectra ranging from 0.2 to 12 keV and determined black hole masses and bolometric luminosities for four newly discovered AGNs. 

The team measured these values between 12 and 260 million solar masses and 170 and 1,800 tredecillion erg/s, respectively. Additionally, they observed that four of the AGNs exhibited intrinsic absorption exceeding 1,022 cm−2.

The researchers underscored the significance of this discovery, emphasizing its contribution to the ongoing search for AGNs. They hoped to establish a large sample of these objects based on their hard X-ray emissions.

The result will help to get a large (about 2,000 objects) and statistically complete sample of AGNs selected by their emission in the challenging 4–12 keV X-ray energy band after completing the planned eight sky surveys.

Due to the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, the British Grand Prix will not serve as the site for their 800th race start.

Instead, Williams has decided to extend their commemoration to the British and Hungarian Grand Prix, ensuring their devoted home fans can partake in the festivities.

At their home race in Silverstone, Williams will reveal a bespoke livery exclusively designed for the occasion. Additionally, the team’s FW45 car will proudly display a unique emblem in Budapest, paying tribute to their late founder, Sir Frank Williams.

The legendary 1992 title-winning Williams FW14B will also make a spectacular appearance on Grand Prix Sunday, driven by 2009 World Champion and Williams ambassador Jenson Button, who will take it for demonstration laps.

UNITED STATES: New footage revealed during The Game Awards 10-Year Concert has all but confirmed the identity of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the highly anticipated game by Insomniac.

The performance, featuring an orchestra playing music from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, provided strong evidence that Harry Osborn will take on the role of Venom in the game. 

While the secret endings of the previous Spider-Man titles teased Harry’s existence, his involvement and connection to the symbiote remained a mystery. 

The official unveiling of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021 confirmed that Venom would be one of the main antagonists, further fueling speculation about Harry’s transformation.

Director Bryan Intihar had previously stated that Eddie Brock, the original alter-ego of Venom, would not be part of the game, adding weight to the theory that Harry Osborn would become Venom. 

The newly released video from the concert virtually confirms this theory. In the footage shared by YouTuber Evan Filarca, a scene depicts Norman Osborn approaching Harry, who visibly displays black tendrils on his arms, an apparent reference to Venom.

The ambient screens surrounding the stage also showcased these tendrils, further solidifying Harry’s connection to the symbiote.

However, the story may not directly portray Harry as Venom. The gameplay trailer for Spider-Man 2 showed Peter Parker wearing the symbiote suit while pursuing the Lizard, suggesting that Peter may find a way to rid himself of the symbiote. 

Subsequently, the symbiote could reach Harry, eventually transforming him into Venom. In addition to Venom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature Kraven the Hunter as another antagonist. 

The trailer has yet to reveal Kraven’s role and relationship with Venom. It is unknown whether Kraven will set the stage for Venom or vice versa, similar to the progression of villains in the first Spider-Man game, where Mr. Negative preceded Doctor Octopus.

INDIA: The highly anticipated Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV will debut on August 15, according to reports. Surprisingly, the launch event will take place in South Africa, a growing market for Mahindra. This news is a delight for Thar fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 5-door variant.

Mahindra has a history of launching new products on August 15, and South Africa currently sells other Mahindra models, such as the Mahindra XUV300, Mahindra XUV700, and the new Mahindra Scorpio N.

UNITED KINGDOM: Mercedes Team Boss Toto Wolff has hit back at recent claims made by Helmut Marko, advisor to Red Bull, suggesting that Wolff’s involvement in “politics” played a role in Red Bull overlooking Mick Schumacher for a seat for the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Schumacher, the son of legendary seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, lost his race seat with Haas at the end of last year and currently serves as Mercedes’ reserve driver. 

Despite his talent and the admiration of Franz Tost, team principal of Red Bull’s B team AlphaTauri, Schumacher needed help to secure a spot elsewhere.

Marko shed light on the situation, revealing that Wolff sought a meeting with Red Bull’s CEO, Oliver Mintzlaff, to discuss Schumacher’s prospects. 

However, Marko claimed that Wolff’s involvement in politics at the governing body, the FIA, led to Red Bull taking the topic off the table. 

He questioned why Mercedes did not offer Schumacher a seat in their team or use their influence to secure a spot at a customer team like Williams.

Wolff, who has previously expressed frustration with how Haas treated Schumacher in the 2022 season, responded by stating that Marko’s version of events differs from his own. 

He clarified that he never discussed placing Schumacher at Red Bull with their leadership. While he praises Schumacher whenever possible, he believes it is ultimately up to each team to decide on their drivers.
