UNITED STATES: The Chucky doll, handcuffed with a knife still protruding from his overalls, is seen hunching against the wall while police grip his vibrant orange hair to capture his mug shot.

In a strange twist, both Chucky and his owner were detained in a northern Mexican town earlier this week.

According to local media, the puppeteer, who goes by the name Carlos “N” as per Mexican regulations, reportedly employed the “demon doll” to intimidate individuals and extort money.

Both faced charges of causing public disturbance and endangering the safety of others.

In Monclova, within Coahuila State, a police officer was captured on camera chuckling as she held up the lengthy knife confiscated from Chucky.

Mexican media reported that the officer responsible for handcuffing Chucky received a formal reprimand later for not displaying appropriate seriousness in her duty.

Chucky is one of the most recognizable horror icons in popular culture, and has been referenced numerous times in other films, television shows, and video games. He is known for his sadistic sense of humor, his catchphrase “Wanna play?”, and his iconic red-striped shirt and overalls.

Chucky first appeared in the 1988 film Child’s Play, which was directed by Tom Holland and starred Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. The film was a critical and commercial success, and spawned seven sequels, a television series, and a remake.

Carlos “N” was subsequently released, as reported by local news outlets, but the whereabouts of the Chucky doll remain unknown.
