Alpinestars’ New Nucleon Flex Armor Vest Redefines Rider Safety

ITALY: Since it first entered the market in 1963, motorcycle gear and equipment specialist Alpinestars has been a market leader.

With its top-of-the-line gear, the Italian company has kept many riders safe, from world-famous racers to casual track day fans.

The latest Nucleon Flex Pro vest from Alpinestars exemplifies how the company’s technology has been adapted to benefit road riders. Alpinestars was founded on the racing circuit.

Vests fall somewhere between fully equipped riding jackets and not wearing any torso protection.

Vests also make it simple to hide your riding gear, making them the ideal base layer to wear over thermal clothing, which is helpful for neo-retro riders concerned about fashion.

However, the Nucleon Flex vest from Alpinestars appears to take riding vest safety to the next level.

While most PPE Class A riding jackets come with protection for the spine, the Alpinestars Nucleon Flex vest has a slew of protectors that protect the rider’s entire torso. It has inserts on the chest and ribs that are shock-resistant in addition to the standard back protection.

The protective parts of the vest are made of a material called polymer, which is flexible and good at absorbing shock and impact.

This polymer material is enclosed in a mesh case on the back protector. On the chest protector, a two-piece assembly is hidden under the fabric.

The Nucleon Flex Pro is made of a stretchable textile fabric that provides excellent ventilation on the outside. The vest has reinforced padded areas on the sides and a long zipper in the middle, making it easy to wear and take off. Additionally, it has an elastic waistband for a snug fit.

As with most Alpinestars products, the Nucleon Flex Pro is quite expensive, costing 189.95 euros, or approximately $205. It comes in a single black color scheme and is available in sizes XS through XL.

Germany: Crime Syndicate Led by Moroccan Migrants Continues to Rise Unabated

GERMANY: In highly skilled robberies, organized criminal gangs in the Netherlands and France, primarily made up of migrants from Morocco, are blowing up ATMs in Germany at an unprecedented rate.

According to government statistics, the gangs destroyed 500 ATMs in 2022, which is statistically more than one machine per day.

The gangs blew up and looted 500 ATMs in Germany

Germans use cash as their primary source of monetary transactions, and to meet this demand, banks operate nearly 100,000 ATMs across Germany. These machines typically contain cash worth between €50,000 and €100,000.

Criminal gangs take advantage of large amounts of money being stored inside ATMs. The miscreants employ extreme tactics to gain access to this money. It is said that these criminal networks meticulously plan out their operations, including the initial surveillance, demolition, and escape.

Additionally, the police claim that they act with cruelty and brutality, putting lives in danger.

In Germany, the migrant gangs detonate explosives in banks that are so potent that they destroy entire structures. They have blown up bank vault doors to 30 meters away in some instances, demonstrating how powerful these blasts can be.

Many of these banks are located in residential buildings of Germany. The threat to Germans is unprecedented, according to the police.

According to police sources in Germany obtained by a media house, although the final number has not yet been released, there were a record-high 500 bank heists in 2022.

Germany’s interior ministry held high-level meetings on the issue, but the robbery teams are not slowing down. The Federal Criminal Police reported 414 attempted or successful demolitions in 2021, and the same number occurred in 2020.

According to the authorities, the gangs are most active in the west of Germany, with Lower Saxony and North-Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous states, as their most popular targets.

The states are close to the Netherlands, where most gangs are active. However, some teams also operate out of France.

The gangs typically target banks close to significant motorways to make a quick getaway. Most banks are targeted in the early morning when the roads are mostly empty.

The gangs typically collaborate in teams, each member serving a distinct function. In one incident, the group doused garbage cans with gasoline and set them on fire in the middle of the road near the small town of Heusenstamm in Hesse.

The fire effectively blocked both lanes of traffic. If everything goes according to their plans, then the police wouldn’t be able to pursue their getaway vehicle due to the roadblock caused by the fire.

Two men in tracksuits and face masks pried open the Commerzbank’s door. They were caught on camera opening the ATM’s cash slots and filling them with oxygen and acetylene, the bomb’s ingredients, using a hose. A gang member in a BMW 320d parked behind the bank, then set off the bomb.

Media reports compared the precision and speed of the men’s work with that of a racing team at a pit stop.

The robbery at Commerzbank is only one such instance where the criminals deployed explosive tactics to gain access to the money.

Nearly every night, Germany is rocked by such explosions, which frequently cause far more harm than the tens of thousands of euros lost through the machines.

According to media reports, strong explosions have caused severe damage to buildings and forced residents to be evacuated. The following morning, the videos of explosions in supermarkets, buildings, and other public spaces frequently air on German news.

During a court trial for a gang member whom police were able to apprehend, a judge from Hesse referred to the inner cities of Germany as suffering “war-like damage” during the sentence. Prosecutor’s office police described the gang as carrying out “explosive attacks in public spaces.”

In such instances, the distinction between robbery and terrorism is beginning to blur.

Swen Eigenbrodt, the lead investigator of a special new unit within the Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA), said that it is a miracle that the criminal acts haven’t resulted in any deaths yet. The unit has actively targeted the gangs involved in the state’s ATM heists.

Some perpetrators have been arrested frequently for their errors at the crime scenes.

Some, for instance, left fingerprints at the scene, speed-trap cameras have stopped others as they tried to flee, and others are caught with their smartphones, which record their movements.

Despite the pieces of evidence, there aren’t many arrests made at the scene of the crime because the teams move quickly. And even though the German police arrest the miscreants, there are enough teams working to keep the number of explosion-powered robberies going up.

The Dutch city of Utrecht is thriving but also has poverty-ridden areas where up to 60% of the population comes from other countries. Most of these organized gangs originate in this city, and authorities in the Netherlands and Germany are working together to end them.

Cyrille Fijnaut, a professor emeritus in Dutch criminology, has been observing these ATM heist teams for 20 years and is an active advisor to the Dutch government.

He stated that between 200 and 400 young men make up the criminal network and that “many of them have Moroccan roots.” He said they frequently follow in the footsteps of older boys in their communities who wear high-end watches and drive sports cars.

One of the most potent gang members established his ATM demolition crew training facility a few years ago.

He rented a factory building, placed an order for discarded ATMs, and began training members in what acted as a gang school. However, these criminal organizations are also present in cities like Alkmaar and Amsterdam.

Vito Shukrula, a well-known Dutch defence lawyer, also stated that these heists were used as “seed” money to join the Dutch cocaine trade. For these teams, he described it as “easy money.”

News reports have previously reported that the drug trade in the Netherlands brings in billions of dollars annually for the Moroccan Mafia.

The criminal organization is known for killing its rivals, witnesses to the state’s case, and even journalists.

The 18-year-old Dutch Princess Amalia had to go into hiding a few months ago due to credible threats of kidnapping and assassination. The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has also increased his security due to the group’s threats.

The First Balkan War: When Greek Flotilla Triumphed over Ottoman Navy in Lemnos

0

INDIA: The First Balkan War, which lasted from October 1912 to May 1913, saw the victorious alliance of Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, and Montenegro against the Ottoman Empire.

One of the war’s critical events was the Second Naval Battle of Lemnos, which occurred on January 18, 1913.

The Greek flotilla, commanded by Rear Admiral Pavlos Kountouriotis, consisted of four battleships, four cruisers, and several smaller vessels.

The Ottoman Navy, led by Rear Admiral Souchoukov, had three battleships, three cruisers, and several smaller ships.

The battle began early in the morning, with the Greek ships approaching the Ottoman fleet at high speed. The Greeks caught the Ottoman ships off guard and quickly outmanoeuvred them.

The Greek battleships quickly closed in on the Ottoman ships and began firing their main guns. The Ottomans attempted to fight back, but their ships were no match for the Greeks.

A few hours of intense fighting with the Greeks forced the Ottoman ships to retreat.

The Greeks had successfully destroyed two Ottoman battleships and several smaller vessels while only losing one cruiser.

The Greeks effectively neutralised the Ottoman Navy, and the flotilla was able to secure the islands of the northern Aegean Sea for Greece.

This naval victory was a crucial turning point in the First Balkan War because it gave the Greeks control over the Aegean Sea and allowed the successful invasion of the Gallipoli peninsula.

The Battle of Lemnos also significantly influenced the course of World War I, as it weakened the Ottoman Empire and made it easier for the Allies to invade the Dardanelles.

The First Balkan War was a significant event in the history of the Balkan Peninsula, as it marked the first time in centuries that the Balkan nations were able to challenge the Ottoman Empire successfully.

It also marked the end of the Ottoman Empire’s dominance in the region and the rise of the Balkan nations as independent states.

The Naval Battle of Lemnos was a crucial moment in the First Balkan War and had far-reaching consequences for the region and the world.

The battle was a shining moment for Greece as it demonstrated its military prowess and secured its control over the northern Aegean Sea.

The Naval Battle of Lemnos also served as a harbinger of things to come, as it foreshadowed the eventual collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the emergence of the modern Balkan states.

Top Indian Sprinter Dutee Chand Tests Positive for Prohibited Substances

0

INDIA: India’s top sprinter Dutee Chand tested positive for using a prohibited substance on Wednesday. The sport’s governing body subsequently suspended her.

Dutee Chand received a provisional suspension after the positive test

SARS S4 Andarine, O Dephenylandarine, SARMS (ENBOSARM) (OSTARINE), and LIGANDROL Metabolite are the prohibitive substances in Dutee’s samples.

Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs), a class of therapeutic compounds with anabolic properties comparable to those of anabolic steroids but with fewer androgenic (producing male characteristics) properties, were the prohibited substance for which Dutee tested positive.

Due to their anabolic properties and capacity to stimulate androgen receptors in muscle and bone, these banned substances have the potential for misuse to enhance performance in sports, according to the WADA website’s list of prohibited substances.

The use of prohibited substances can result in a more rapid growth rate of bone and muscle, giving athletes an unfair advantage over their rivals.

The “A” sample of Dutee come back positive after the tests by WADA. The sprinter will likely appeal against the ruling and submit a “B” sample for another round of tests.

Dutee Chand competed in the Gujarat National Games in September and October 2022. She competed in the 200-meter run but could not advance to the final. Dutee then finished sixth in the final of the 100-meter race.

She won silver in the women’s 100 m and 200 m events at the 2018 Asian Games, making her a medallist in both events at the Asian Games.

The Indian sprinter also won bronze at the Asian Championships in 2013, 2017, and 2019.

She won the 100-meter event in 2019 and became the first Indian woman sprinter to win gold at a Universiade.

FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup: Belgium Levels 2-2 with Germany in Thrilling Encounter

0

INDIA: Belgium and Germany drew 2-2 in their Pool B matchup of the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday with two goals each.

Belgium started the game on a positive note and won a penalty corner in a few minutes. Hendrickx flicked a screamer toward the post off a corner, but Mathias Muller did well to stop the ball from going past him.

Cedric Charlier handed Belgium the lead after flicking the ball at an angle into the German goalpost’s bottom right corner.

Germany wasted a goal-scoring opportunity a few minutes into the second quarter. However, Niklas Wallen made amends with a diagonal shot to bring Germany level at 1-1 with Belgium.

The two European teams exchanged possession in the second quarter as each tried to gain the upper hand. Belgium was particularly in attack mode, but Germany’s defence did well to foil their attempts.

Christopher Ruhr almost scored a goal in the third quarter, but the shot went wide off the post. Belgium won a penalty corner, but Stadler pushed Hendrickx’s shot away from the goalpost.

Tom Boon received the first green card of the match and remained off the field for two minutes. The Belgian players launched a counter-attack, with Kina taking the ball away from the Belgian circle.

Teo Hinrichs was hit in the right eye while hitting the ball as Hendrickx vied for the ball mid-air. The incident marked the end of the third quarter.

Christopher Ruhr made several futile attempts to score a goal, but the Belgian defence and goalkeeper saved his shots each time. Germany had another opportunity when Ludwig passed the ball to Wellen near the circle.

Wellen entered the circle and turned around to net the ball, but missed the goalpost. Eventually, Tom Grambusch handed Germany the lead after flicking the ball past the Belgian goalkeeper, Vanasch.

With just five minutes left on the clock, Victor Wegnez equalised for Belgium after Germany’s green card for Prinz left the side with just ten players.

The close encounter between the teams ended soon after the referee showed the yellow card to Ruhr, who pushed a Belgian player.

In the 14th minute, South Korea increased its momentum and won three consecutive penalty corners but failed to take advantage of them. In the first quarter, which ended 1-1, neither team had much to differentiate itself.

In the second quarter, South Korea increased the stakes. In the 23rd minute, Lee Jungjun retook the lead for South Korea with a powerful right-wing shot past the Japanese goalkeeper.

Both teams had a few more chances to score, but they didn’t take advantage of them. The game ended 2-1 in South Korea’s favour at the end of the first half.

In the 32nd minute, Japan wasted their second penalty corner opportunity. South Korea made amends and had an opportunity for a penalty corner in the 43rd minute, but they could not maintain control of the flick.

South Korea started the fourth and final quarter from where they left off in the third quarter, and in the 47th minute, they got three opportunities for penalty corners in succession. However, Japan’s solid defence stopped the opposition’s relentless attacks.

In the 50th minute, Japan won their third penalty corner, but South Korea’s Kim made a great save behind the bar to thwart the Japanese efforts.

Japan’s desperate search for an equalizer resulted in another penalty corner in the 53rd minute, but Jehyeonhad’s brilliant save stopped the goal attempt again.

Desert Storm: A Retrospective on the War That Defined the 1990s

0

INDIA: On January 17th, 1991, Operation Desert Storm officially began, marking the start of the gulf war, a military campaign led by the United States and a coalition of other countries to liberate Kuwait from the control of Iraq.

The operation lasted for a total of 42 days before the coalition forces won the war with a decisive victory, ultimately leading to the withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Kuwait and the end of the Persian Gulf War.

The invasion of Kuwait by Iraq on August 2, 1990, under the leadership of President Saddam Hussein, sparked the operation.

Iraq had long-standing disputes with Kuwait over border disputes and oil production, and the world saw the invasion as an attempt by Iraq to gain control over Kuwait’s vast oil reserves.

The United Nations Security Council swiftly condemned the invasion and authorised the use of force to remove Iraq from Kuwait.

The United States, under the leadership of President George H.W. Bush, quickly assembled a coalition of countries to participate in the operation, including countries such as the United Kingdom, France, and Saudi Arabia.

General Norman Schwarzkopf led the coalition forces and commanded over 500,000 troops.

The operation began with a massive air campaign that targeted Iraq’s crucial military and economic targets, including air defence systems, communication networks, and military bases.

The coalition forces also employed advanced technology, such as stealth bombers and cruise missiles, to evade Iraq’s air defences and deliver precision strikes.

After five weeks of intense air attacks, coalition forces launched a ground campaign to push Iraqi troops out of Kuwait.

Several critical engagements marked the ground campaign, including the Battle of Khafji, which saw coalition forces fight off a surprise attack by Iraqi troops.

The coalition forces eventually drove the Iraqi army out of Kuwait and liberated the country.

History considered the operation a successful military operation, as the coalition forces achieved their objectives in a relatively short period of time and with minimal casualties.

The coalition suffered around 150 deaths, while Iraq lost an estimated 25,000 troops.

The operation also resulted in the capture of thousands of Iraqi soldiers and the destruction of much of Iraq’s military infrastructure.

However, the operation also had significant aftermaths for the region and the world. The war resulted in the displacement of many Kuwaiti citizens and the destruction of the country’s infrastructure.

Additionally, the war increased tensions between the United States and Iraq, leading to a prolonged period of conflict between the two countries.

The modern world continues to feel the legacy of Operation Desert Storm, as the United States continues to be involved in the region and the threat of Iraq remains a concern for the international community.

The operation also served as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation in addressing global security issues and the need for a proper retaliation against aggression and violations of international law.
